Do you remember ...
« on: May 01, 2011, 12:35:32 AM »
Bovril flavour crisps and pink 'pink panther' strawberry flavoured candy.

i used to love Bovril crips, the Marmite ones that Walkers do nowadays arent as good.
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

Nope, but I do remember Orion potato chips.  They were sour cream and onion flavour and about an eighth of an inch thick.

I remember the Bovril crisps...they were like beef crisps with a bit more kick.

The pink panther candy I'm not so sure I remember though...

I remember the Pink Panther pink chocolate!!! It was yummy :D  I also remember something called Mint Cracknell - it came in two squares and it was like strands of mint crystals covered in chocolate like a biscuit. If you bit into them one way, it broke really nicely because the strands ran left to right. If you turned it around and bit the other side, it would break up in your mouth because you were biting against the lined up crystals (think of breaking a handful of raw spaghetti for the same effect!)

I also remember Blobs (fruit flavoured boiled sweets), Freddo Frogs, Goldrush bubblegum, Bazooka Joe bubblegum and sherbet bought by the quarter ;)  I used to love Pacers and wish they would bring them back.

Don't remember bovril crisps, but I do remember the ketchup ones.  Those were quite tasty in a processed, artificial kind of way.

I used to have a Roy of the Rovers chew bar habit, too.  Right now I'm jonesin' for that fizzy pineapple kick.

Taz bars... did they get turned into Freddo bars?

With you on both of those! I loved them, although the Mint Cracknell just seemed to vanish when you ate it, like it had no real substance.

Anyone old enough to remember Aztec bars?

Just me then...

Ah, I loved those Bovril crisps. They were my favourite. I remember most of the sweets people are talking about here, though I was the weird child who didn't like sweet things so I don't know what most of them actually tasted like. I got told off by my mum and dad for spending the money they gave me for sweets to take to school in the greengrocer's instead. They didn't know until my first parents's evening at school when my teacher told them how surprise he was that I didn't complain about getting sent to school with fruit instead of sweets.

The sweeties that come with Hasslefree orders are still appreciated, though. I give them to my friends' dog. :)

It's been a while, though. Money's been too tight to mention, though things might be perking up a bit soon. Maybe in September...

MMMMMM Cadburys Secret bars

Oh yes! I can't actually recall how they tasted or if I even liked them, but I've been hankering after one for a few weeks  :eh:

Does anyone else remember Terry's Pyramints? The first version that was a pyramid a little bigger than a Cream Egg?

How about when you only got three types of crisps in pubs? Walker's, Golden Wonder, or Smith's Salt'N'Shake? You knew you were at a posh gaff if dad came back out with a packet of Walkers!

Sadly I remember most of those but the one thing I loved was specifically wham bars. Wow that's so 1980's of me. Sadly I don't think my teeth would handle them now. Also a fond favourite of mine was highland toffee bars also.
