Whilst visiting another forum, the question arose...'what have you painted in 2010?' and I had a look through my blog to see what I had managed to complete...and I was extremely surprised at the result.

Here is a list (from 01 Jan 2010 to now):

I think managed 2 and half minis this year... might be just one and a half, cna't remember when I finished one other But definitely the reaper mini Thomas Hammerfist and I've a heresy Narbot the cyclops in progress. But next year, well I'll be disappointed if I don't get that up to more like a dozen. I think 1 or 2 a month is reasonable to fit in around everything else I get up to. But you never can tell...

The good news is the various folks and discussions here are doing a good job of keeping my interest up.

I didn't finish a Freebooter miniatures dancer for the Chick Challenge
I started painting a hasslefree concubine - I even tried using some pastels on that.  Also unfinished for the CC
I've primed up a hasslefree Oberon and did a little work on the base.
I started painting a GW mk1 (exo armour) terminator that I primed in about 1994, trying the nmm gold thing.  But I don't think it's working.

A shed load of Orcs and Goblins for my LotR forces, some Trenchcoats for Andy, a couple of small commissions, a few single figs for therapeutic release then hit a brick wall enthusiasm-wise around March/April time. 

Plenty of projects started, still staring at me with their accusing eyes (metaphorically) from my painting desk, that I will one day complete. It's just finding the time and enthusiasm to finish them that's the problem. Maybe 2011 will be different?

It's quality, not quantity that counts! ...but in my case I don't rate in terms of either. I didn't finish a single mini in 2010 ...mostly thanks to this:

I did buy quite a lot of shiny new minis though and I'm really hoping that 2011 will be a better balance for me in terms of getting back into painting, photography and other real-life stuff, like getting fit for a 60 day trek and possibly going to Antarctica in November.

There are some hard-working painters on here!  I was amazed at what I'd achieved but I can see I am not alone.

And one well painted miniature is as good as a truckload if it is all you've had time/enthusiasm for.  I spent months staring at my Ogarix before I finally painted him...and when he was done he was worth a hundred others, just because I had finally got the muse to paint him .

My favorite thing has to be the 'Veteran of a thousand psychic wars' by Grey Matter. Its not the kind of thing I'd usually paint, and it came out really well and the guys were really chuffed with it. Its the one thats on there website too which is nice
Not nearly as much as I would have liked, and the lead pile has been rising a little too much this year for my liking. I did have a massive slump when I got that commission work but it taught me a valuable life lesson - don't take commission work.

Projects for 2011:

Another 35 Victrix old guard
30+ Wargames factory great coats (resin backpacks)
Pig Iron system troopers (done Halo style)
A baccus 6mm Samurai army
Sculpt something that isn't covered in fur. Preferably a human.
Finish the shadowsword, and start the actual guard army I meant to do this time last year
At least make a proper start on my Tau army, which has been languishing in bits for far too long
Seriously look at some of the special things I've got lying around like Axenarf and the Mike McVey models
Finish those true scale space marines I started

Things which shouldn't be projects, but probably are going to be anyways:

Well, I did work on some minis, which does actually include making a start on a squad of Grymn, and I've been working on a mini for Lizcam which is now doubling up as a competition entry for the Wamped competition.  You never know, I might just have a finished mini to show this year.
