Male Adolescent; Lanky Long-Hair; Skinny Hero
« on: December 06, 2010, 10:40:52 PM »
After looking through the extensive (and awesome) miniatures on the HF site, I seem to have noticed that there's a lack of adventurers (or otherwise human miniatures) that are male adolescents with or without long hair (except the minstrel).  Also, there's a similiar lack of male miniatures that are lanky with or without being awkward (except Wolsey) or very thin in general.

Not that being very thin is heroic, but many of the adventurers seem to be of the non-stereotypical hero stock.  I'm not sure how much interest there'd be in this, but I thought I'd just point it out.

Female Mechanic (October 2007)
Rocketteer (December 2007)
Child with Zed Head Mace (May 2010)

1970s Nosferatu Pimp (December 2010)

I don't know about skinny heroes, but then I generally like celtic legends. We're more the stocky, tough arms and legs like tree trunks, kind of people. Aren't skinny characters more of a Japanese thing?

It certainly isn't an American thing!   :lmao:

But in all seriousness, it's just something I felt was missing--not a criticism of the miniatures sculpted up to this point.

I guess I'm not using an stylistic, heroic sort of reasoning as much as a statisical-probability-of-a-survivor-fitting-that-body-type sort of reasoning.

I'm with Blackjack on this one - I'd definitely be interested in some thin & trim survivors.  Possibly someone with a cyclist's build: strong, but skinny.  I'd wager those types would make excellent candidates for surviving just about *any* kind of apocalypse, zombie or not.  A lanky teenager would also be a good addition to the modern adventurers line as a survivor.

If we're talking 'modern', how about a not/Xander?

see when I read the title my mind thought of the potty mouthed dealer from Jersey - probably coupled with a request for a slight more husky bearded silent type as a companion. But that could just be me

Not/Xander is a good idea though, fits the criteria and would fit into the hasslefree range nicely.

:metoo: Well, in that case, you'd also need four hot chicks in latex catsuits to steal the diamonds...

What? Did you really expect this thread to proceed along those lines without me steering it towards hot chicks in latex catsuits?

I think Jay & Silent Bob inspired minis could be another great range. There are a lot of interesting and recurring characters in those films.

I vote for hot chicks in latex catsuits too. I don't necessarily mean as miniatures, I mean generally.

We suggested the Jay and Silent Bob/Girls in Catsuits before.

Still a good idea.
