Kinda glad i haven't read the comics would reckon there be to many spoilers in them for it?

At the start the plots follow quite broad similar strokes, but no, by the end of the first series they manage to deviate quite significantly from the first collected book...  Including survivors who shouldn't still be walking around...

Of course where they leave it is cleverly worked out to allow them to pick up thye second book and/or deviate further.

Apparenly its a deliberate move to avoid too many spoilers for the readers.

Just re-watched the first episode on the blu-ray set (Direct TV here in the US doesn't broadcast AMC in HD   :tantrum: ), and I'm still blown away.

2nd series is set to air this fall (in the US, I'm sure about the same time for ROW)

I've got the boxed set of DVDs pre-ordered from Amazon. I watched episode one on Channel 5 but it was ruined by ad breaks every ten minutes. Even though I recorded it and was able to fast forward past the adverts they still killed the show for me. Roll on the DVDs and no crappy adverts ruining my enjoyment. From what I have seen I just know that I'm going to love this series. It's a good job I'm a patient person.

Series 2 coming in October.  From the stuff that came out of Comic Con there looks to be a wonderful set-piece in a traffic jam...  Leading into the main meat of the plot from the comics (although changes are rife considering the trailer features a character that should have died already)

Oh go lookie yourself;

Rumour has it that series 3 will be set in the prison.

As someone who has read the comic since around issue 20, I'm pretty pleased that the show is going to do things that the comics haven't.  It keeps the suspense up, and that's a great thing.  I'm looking forward to seeing Herschel and the farm.

You'd be surprised how many older women want their photos taking with you when you dress up as Hagrid for a fancy dress party!

Ah, the bennies of 'liking' something on Facebook:

or, if you can't view due to geographical limitations (thanks to a friendly Frother), you can find them here:

A prequel of sorts "Torn Apart", the story of the 'bicycle lady' zombie from Series 1 episode 1.  The Youtube link might be a bit better, just because you don't have the annoying Pizza Hut commercial before each installment.

Second series is good so far, although Jules is not a fan of the kids being in quite so much peril...

Depends on how close they keep to the comics but Jules is going to HATE it when the baby comes...
