Those little green tanks wont involve the use of the comms grymn will they? Little remote controlled tactical units . . . . I have to say you are a genius when it comes to Grymn Inso.

...little remote control tactical units?  Close...but not quite ;).  You'll see, soon enough (once I get my plasticard-converting head on).

There will be one for every squad and it won't need a controller.

Brilliant!  :applause:  I really like your colours.  Mine were just done to sell in a shop.  I was trying to hit a niche that was being ignored.  You've made something I would want to keep.

By the way, send me a PM when you put stuff like this up.  I don't normally visit this part of the FoD.  It's a month later and I'm finally in on the excitement.

Here's another bunch of tunnel fighters:

If you want to know why one of them has blue markings, check out Inso's World and all will be revealed!

(Don't tell anyone but there are some more WIP pics of the little tank as well ;) ).

I like what you have done there Inso. A moving barricade is certainly very useful.

As for a walking comms officer you could use the em4 robot/mechs as the basis. Alternatively the pig iron command squad robot is rather nice.

There is a serious lack of good robots/cyborgs out there, well that arn't terminator wannabe's anyway.

Still plodding along with another 3 finished:

...two of which were used to finish off the second squad...Red squad:

I have officially run out of Grymn to convert...but that isn't too much of an issue as I have some on the way from HF central as we speak :).  I have plenty of heads to go with them too...so once they arrive, I can crack on with the project again !

ooh impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing the sort of support you have there for them. I don't see your mystic panda scout in there.

Did you sculpt those pigs?  They're nicely rendered.

It's good to see more Grymn done, too.

I like 'em.
They remind me of a large version of those things the goblins had on sticks in labrynth (spelling) that were used to attack Ludo, in a good way though.

I thought they looked a lot like giant mole-rats and as a result, it seemed like they were tailor made for a tunnel force.

I still have a couple of them left...it is difficult to use 2 scratching ones without them looking too samey...BUT that means I have 2 to convert into big puppies :).

They are very nice :)

Do you mind if I ask a more prosaic question?  How do you do your sandy bases?  They always look very good.

Really?  It must be the Cornish sand :).

First I paint the base and let it dry.  I then paint on PVA glue and then sprinkle on my Cornish sand (Straight from Church Cove beach), tapping off the excess and then letting it dry.  I then base coat with a watery coat of Bestial Brown, let that dry and then dry brush with Vomit brown.  Chaos Black goes around the rim to finish it off.

The sand I use is multicoloured and the watered down basecoat allows a small amount of variation in colour before the dry brush.  Depending on whether I want variation, I'll sometimes sculpt GS blobs on the base to add some extra texture...

All in all, really, REALLY basic :).

Glad you like them though :).

I thought you were only temporarily stationed in Cornwall.

Played cricket at uni with a man from that region.  What an accent!
