Yep, he's an OGrymn. He has to wear bronze armour for its 'mystical' properties :) . I was debating painting symbols on his puppy in black... but chickened out... I think it would look cool but I just don't want to mess it up :( .

For some reason, I have dug a few Grymn out of the cupboard and chopped their heads off ready for conversion. I have also found a heavy walker and comms robot to go with the troops... so the special squad will consist of:

OGrymn mystic
OGrymn with chain-gun
Heavy walker
Coms robot
Grymn leader with pulse gun
5x Grymn with shotgun

I have a vehicle ready to start once that little group is done.

I reckon that it will take me less time to finish this squad than to assemble the last clanker unit but we'll have to see.

The heavy walker is quite groovy :)

Gi6ers sent me this and I felt it could do with a little modification...

I think it will go nicely in the special squad (it is the heavy walker).

Cool.  Makes me think of Ram Man from He-Man, with a big soldering torch.

You are not the first person to say that... how can I comment ;)?

On a different note, it looks like I'll have something to post tomorrow... painted Grymn Tunnel Fighters! I have finished painting 6 converted Grymn and their comms robot. I just need to sort out the bases and they will be finished and ready for pix :)

YAY!

It's brilliant.

(I still think tunnel fighters need some digging equipment, for example if the tunnel falls in.)

I suppose a Tunnel Rescue Unit may be in order at some point... but if I keep on adding units, I'll never get the project finished ;)...

... but I have been busy converting the last Clanker unit... so I do have some progress:

I just have to fill a few gaps and glue the arms/packs on and they will be done.

The first Clanker unit is finished:

The Grymn Sgt from the special unit has popped along to see how things are getting along (for scale purposes).

I thought that too... so... what colour for the next ten?

I was thinking a very dark blue (Necron Abyss) but what do you reckon?

Now it's morning, and I'm (more) awake, I think dark blue is good. Also purple.

I have yet to wash them with Devlan Mud. Once that is done, they will get the same markings as the others (except blue). The comms robot has a blue bit because getting in the gaps will mean messing up the washed areas so the blue has gone on first (and I'll take a hit with the darker bits where the brush won't reach).

When you get them done, could you take close-ups of one of them, so we can see the work you've put into them? Sure, they look imposing grouped up, but your last comment shows we're missing out on the detail.

I will happily do as you ask but the problem is that, because they are mostly metallic, the flash kills the details... so you probably still won't get to see how they 'really' look.

But, like I said, I will try to get a few good pix of a shaded one.
