I've gone a bit rockabilly and have been listening to the Stray Cat Strut.

I have been asking people for tips on ANGRY music for a couple of years now. So far no success. Johnny Cash (some songs) is close. And Stravinsky. Brel to (some songs) but apart from that most music seems to be sentimental drivel. "Hard" rock and punk more than anything

Have you tried Skunk Anansie? Skin does sound really pissed off on a fair amount of their stuff.

Reel Big Fish. Ska/punk angry, sweary, beery and bitter. Warning for excessive sweariness although this is kinda mild by their standards :)

But chainsaws and pneumatic drills are quite OK to listen to. And carcompressor machines. That nice and crunchy sound.

I'm listening to a bit of a mix today:

rock and roll 'cos I went to a free Mike Sanchez gig at the weekend.
rock and metal 'cos I usually do.

My earworm for the weekend though has been "That Mellow Saxophone" by Roy Montrell, because Mike and his band did a great version on Saturday.

Had the MP3 on shuffle today, so I've had a healthy mix of old school Metal and Thrash, classic rock, psychobilly, blues, Southern rock and random stand up comedy.  Of the newest stuff on my player, I'm really digging the new Iron Maiden and Black Label Society albums.  Also, I just got a new Marshall combo amp, so i'll be listening to that 'king LOUD!

As a massive Metal and Thrash fan, I'd say Pantera and Lamb of God have put out consistently angry, confrontational albums.  I'd also recommend Exodus - their 5 most recent albums are really aggressive and angry, which must be down to their new vocalist (can't really say he sings!) Rob Dukes.  He looks like a psychotic biker who just got out of jail (and probably is lol) - like this:
Put it this way, I wouldn't spill his pint!

Been on a Japanese kick of late; listening to Psydoll. I'd forgotten just how good they were when I saw them live.

... I'm really digging the new Iron Maiden...

That's what I've been listening to since yesterday. I'm not liking it very much, to be honest. Although I rate it as being slighty better than their previous one, I would give it a mere 6 or 6.5 out of 10. I'm listening to it right now, for the third time, to see if I can get into its dark sound.

I quite like the album, but I will admit it is a bit long to listen to all in one go (a bit like Judas Priest's last album).  At least they haven't replicated their previous work, and aren't afraid to change their style a bit.

Ah! Abandoned by the Maiden (IMHO Fear of the dark is their last album), now I'm enjoying the new Accept album; and, mates, the new singer is breaking me apart with a voice so HARD, so SHARP, so METAL.

Listen to a lot of Dubstep and Hip Hop last couple of years. Favorite artists are DJ Shadow, Joker, Rustie, Akira Kiteshi, Noisses, Rob Sparx, Vaccine, Ikonika, Tokimonsta, Marlow, 16 Bit and Bar9.

Aside from that my main loves are Punk, grunge, folk, Blues, Country, indie, rock, metal, drone. Everythimg really. Favourite artists are Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Clash, Ramones, Deftones, Boris, Sunn o))), Jeff Buckley, Jeffrey Lewis, Hank Williams, Robert Johnson, Mogwai, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, Pavement, Eels, The Doors, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Flaming Lips, The Who, Reel Big Fish, Leftover Crack/Choking Victim, Half Man Half Biscuit, They Might Be Giants, Sleep, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, so pretty varied, but I am a musician myself. I produce Dubstep, Breakcore, Glitch-Hop, Drone and indie/punk/folk/grunge-type stuff.
We will use the machine to make them my slaves!

@ Weareblind: If you like Accept's last album, go check Herman Frank's (Accept's second guitar) Loyal to None. Similar to said album, but leaning more to speed metal and heavy rock (i.e. closer to 80's Accept).

Right now, I'm listening to Michael Kiske's last album, the duet with Amanda Somerville titled Kiske-Somerville. It was about time this guy released a really good album; in fact, it's one of the best melodic metal albums from my collection. Highly recommended.

"Down to the valley", "Moon II" and "Welcome to hell" are my favourites.

So you already have it... no surprise. "Moon II" & "Down to the Valley" are my favourites, too.

Not difficult... if you know the films/shows! Some were oldies I had never heard of.
