[If I had CDs of the first two albums by the Damned, they would be in the driving music mix.

Had "Damned, Damned, Damned" on c.d. (ironically stolen from my car  :grrr:), but haven't seen "Music for Pleasure" on c.d. I've got it on vinyl though, in fact, everything up to "Phantasmagoria".
"The Black Album" is a damn fine recording (pun intended), but "Etiquette" was when first I really got into them, so holds a special place in my nostalgia vaults. I've got both versions on vinyl, plus the double c.d. edition, and as far as I can recall, "Curtain Call" is the same length as the vinyl, though I may be wrong...
I'd like them to release "The Very Best Of..." with the original track listing.

I have most of them on vinyl (from the mid-80s) with MGE, the Black Album and most of the newer ones on CD. I started with Phantasmagoria when it was current and worked my way back to the older stuff.

My vinyl of the Black Album was one LP, no "Curtain Call". I have a 12" single with Curtain Call, but it is the short version (~6 minutes instead of the 17 minute epic).

The original release of the Black Album has the same cover as the c.d. release (Damned plaque) and came with a bonus twelve inch with "Curtain Call" on one side and "live at Shepperton" on the reverse. Is yours the edition with "White Rabbit" and "Seagulls" on it?
I think I have a 10 inch version of it somewhere - Chiswick squeezed the Damned's catalogue for all they could.

Ah, the Damned.  Great stuff - I was listening to some yesterday.  Although I have to say I don't like the remixes of Eloise from when they re-released Anything last year.

I'm listening to the new Krokus album on spotify at the moment. :band:

Paolo Nutini.  Ever seen him onstage?  He's got an odd stage presence.

My vinyl copy of the Black Album has a different cover. The design is similar to the plaque on the CD, but in a pale purple colour. I have "Live Shepperton 1980" as a separate 10-track 12" and the "Curtain Call" is on the other side of the "White Rabbit" 12" (but it has been so long since I've played it that I don't remember how they cut it from the long version).

The problem with the Damned's releases at the time was that the record label (and probably at the band's behest?) would often issue releases in different design formats and covers. There's the original release with the plaque on the cover (in a gatefold sleeve - I'm not venturing into the attic to verify  ) which had the live/Curtain Call bonus vinyl, and the single album release with the cover as a homage to the Beatles "White Album" (fantastic - pick up a copy!). It also depends on which country the album was released in, as for instance, the French edition has all the lyrics to "Hit or Miss" - in English!
The Damned were particularily fond of issuing singles with different covers, and IIRC, "Love Song" with had at the very least four, each with a photo of a single band member - I had the Vanian issue, as I couldn't afford the rest at the time...

Saw him @ Glastonbury, hard to understand a word he was saying between tracks, thought
he may have been under the influence of something or the other.

Listening to the last Ian Brown album, My Way...........not sure @ the mo. :hmmm

Huey Lewis & The News. Seems to make me quite happy. And most of it is quite fast paced which helps.
Elvis Costello.

The Clash. Possibly my favourite band. Just can't get enough of them.

And since I worked out how to get music on my phone, I can listen to them on the move  :lalala:

I'm listening to the nearLY CD, Reminder quite a lot and the Error self-titled CD (if I want something a lot more intense), also the soundtrack from Book of Eli. The link between these 3 obscure CDs? Well it's 2 of my favourite bands, one is rather famous (Nine Inch Nails) and the other a little less so (12 Rounds)...

Also picked up Mr Bungle's California the other day. Truly bizarre.
Heron Island photos done! See blog...
