Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement guys :D

What paint range are you using?

Mostly Vallejo Model color and I have a few bottles of Vallejo Game Color.  I'm also using GW Washes.

@ Grekwood - Someone makes Dalek miniatures?  Are they 28mm?  That would be a fun No Limits Army list to come up with! (I just finished watching all the New Doctor Who's online, now I'm working my way through the Tom Baker Episodes!)

These are the BBC Dr Who Daleks that came free with one of the magazines:

Obviously I haven't painted them as your bog standard Dalek...more security robots.

Wow, Very nice! Thanks for sharing the pics.  I just watched a few episodes of "Genesis of the Daleks" last night, very appropriate timing :)

I've had these guys for a long time.  I got 30 of them for about $5 and they've just been sitting around waiting for some paint.  I'm not too fond of the style, but, hey, they were cheap and would serve well as "the other space marine army".

The bases are simple, just some plastic on the the base and painted up and I really didn't put a whole lot of work into them.  I wanted to get them table top ready for some holiday action.

Wow, for cheap-o figures, you've done very nicely with these!  ...and I happen to think the bases look pretty nice.   :D

With the completion of these five I have a one squad done.  I have two more to do but they will have to wait a bit.  I promised my son I'd paint his Land Speeder next, and after that I have my Grymn Assault Squad to paint as well as Sola and Kjaran.

Wow, bull's eye!
What do you use as background for your photographies? The resultant pics are bright and with a good contrast.

Mr Bahir, I bow to you.  Those Red troops above are very nicely painted...and I can't understand how you managed it.  I have the same minis but no matter how I try to paint them they lack any definition and just end up looking like Plasticine...I am amazed at how nice these ones look...

TOP JOB!.

Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement!

@ Wearblind - I found a blue to white gradient online (I forget where) that I printed out and use.  Here's a link http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-k_8c2_MNvvgOG_wRosQBg?authkey=Gv1sRgCJGNvNDjhIzmigE&feat=directlink

With these guys I tried a bit of a different technique from the last batch.
Prime Black
Base - Vallejo Model Color - Red
Wash - GW Badab Black, just in the cracks, etc.
Wash - GW Baal Red
Paint - VMC - Carmine Red
Highlight - VMC - Vermillion
Highlight - VMC - Vermilion 50% , VGC - Yellow 50%

Metals - VMC Oily Steele
Wash GW Badab Black
Drybrush VMC - Silver

With the first bunch I tried to just paint red the red parts while leaving the black lines alone.  (That probably doesn't make sense).  In other words I tried to layer on the paint in the appropriate places, and it took a lot longer.  In addition I did a GW Baal Red Wash after every layer hoping that it would help blend the layers.  It didn't work as intended.  It left some of the red splotchy looking.

I Finally got this one done.  It's my sons for his Marine Army and he really wanted me to paint it so he could use it in our next battle.  It really wasn't that much fun to paint, and I had a hard time getting into it.  I'm looking forward to doing my Grymn Assault Squad.  However the expression on my son's face when he came home from school made it worth it.

A few months ago I was in a Poly toy store and I picked this little bag thing they had for a euro at the register.   In side was this little guy that belongs to some game that had some card with stats on it (I forget the name of the game).  Well I painted him and stuck him on a Fenris Base.  The glossy part is where I tried to make it look like water. The Space marine is there for scale.

I've wanted to add some humans to my Grymn mercenary team and when Andy @ Heresy came out with his scifi troopers I jumped on them.  In my game fluff they are some "orphans" from another mercenary group that were working with the Grymn.  The human group got in a bad situation but completed their objective allowing the Grymn to complete theirs and thus completing the mission.   The Grymn team "adopted" the surviving team members into their group.

I hope I haven't committed any heresy by converting Hersey miniatures using GW parts...   Anyway  I wanted to make these guys a special / heavy weapons team. I still need to do a bit of GS here and there.

The arms are converted scout arms.  For the female trooper I've thinned down the arms a bit and added Dark Eldar hands to decrease the size.  I think I'll thin the arms down a bit more.

I'm not quite sure what weapon to give her.  I have an eldar plastic flamer (setting on top of her hands in the photo) SM flamer (Old and new style), eldar melta, Tau carbine with pathfinder designator thingy, scout shotgun, SM bolt gun.  So far I think I'm leaning toward the eldar flamer or the pathfinder carbine,  adding a little bonus for her mates to hit can't be a bad thing.

Here is the human element to my Grymn Star Merc force.

In the not so distant past The Grymn Star Mercs and the Human Star Mercs shared a ticket to take and hold a Star Port.  The Humans secured the Starport C&C but the Grymn had received poor intelligence and faced superior numbers.  Leaving his special weapons squad to hold the C&C the human commander went to reinforce the Grymn.   The human intervention allowed the Grymn to take their objective, but unfortunately the human commander and his force were eliminated.  As a result the Grymn commander "adopted" the remaining human "orphans" into his  Star Mercs.

I've finally finished my Grymn Assault Squad and Kjaran and Sola.

Sola is the Grymn Mec pilot and devil-may-care sister of Kjaran.  I tried to give her white hair.  I gave it a light blue base and it sorta turned out Anime blue.  It fit her personality so I kept it that way.  I had some problems painting her face for some reason.

Kjaran is the serious Commander of the Star Mercs.  I tried to give him white hair and it turned out... weird.  I started with a white base, then a light coat of Badab Black Wash then dry brush white.  The conversion was inspired by Inso's conversion.  Anyway on with the pictures...
