Subtle blends and the simplicity works well.

She is beautiful.

I'm a huge fan of simplicity in paintjobs. Freehand for the sake of freehand is not cool.

What colors did you use for her hair? It's a lovely warm blond.

Thanks guys :)

Hi Jenova (good to see you back in the painting world again)
the hair was sand yellow washes (vallejo model colour) followed by an orangy red brown i mixed on the spot (gws bestial brown would be very similar) then a subtle drab olive green for the shadows.
smooth it with sand yellow glazes again then a tiny bit of turquiose into the shadows.
touch up highlights with ivory.  :)

Thank you :) I think the olive color gives it a really nice shaded look.

Duuude...!

This is great!! The tree really works (gonna steal that technique BTW)

She seems to be leaning a little odd in the second picture, but it could just be the angle of the dangle :) The subtle colouration of the dress and cloak really are top notch though

Thanks guys :)  realy appreciate it.

@Avicenna, the seamoss foam plant stuff is realy brittle when attached to the plastic sprue tree thingy.  it's probably better to make a tree from scratch (that's what i'll be doing next time as it should be more sturdy due to the entire tree having a little flexibility)
Antenociti has a step by step guide on his site that i found.

it was your ilyad barbarian a few years ago that got me into faffing with trees and stuff.
are you at gd this year mate?

I'm not a fan of the model, but the painting is brilliant. Really smooth and subtle blending

Liking the trees lots too

Great paintjob, nice and smooth ...and basing. Love the tree.

The only thing that isn't working for me is the colour of the orb. The blue and purple combination (being the strongest colours) is perhaps the problem. I think I would have gone for orange on the orb to complement the purple.

But still there's no getting around the coolness of the mini you've created...  :applause:
