Thanks all. The 'little ones' are a short ways away yet, as for sorting out a date, preliminary discussion is next fall.

as aluded to above. went to see the new version of War of the Worlds in brum last night.

I like it, its different enough to the origanal version to show, the music is rescored slightly and the dialoge subtley differnt, the stage has more "effects" like the tripodes heat ray now belching flame ( i kid you not!) the new cast work well, Liam Nealson has the gravitas to carry it and his voice and manerisams diffent enough to Richard Burton that the part is his own. Marti Pellow was ok ( im not a big fan of his from back in the day so.) Both Ricky Wilson and Will Stapleton were good as the artillery man and voice of humanity, and Jason donovan does Parson Nathaniel well. needless to say both parts passed very quickly and im a bit tapped out on the merch, ( new version CD and Vinal t shirt program and mug). And the best bit is that it was a much apreciated chritmas pressy from my lovely wife from last year.

Dragon , we saw the 1st version at the NEC back in 06 (?) when it was there, i beleve i waxed lyrical abought it then as well, we bought the dvd when i came out, and have still only watched the 1st half

we realy should watch the 2nd half soon.

Got a Christmas bonus again this year. Smaller than last year, but hey, a bonus is a bonus. On top of that, I also go a raise. Woot.

Bonus is always good. Being employed by the government I never get a bonus... I do have a six week break though, interspersed with needing to go back into work for prep for the new year.

Bonuses ? 6 weeks holiday ? I'm working 9 hrs christmas day, 8 hrs boxing day and New years day

Having said that It's treble time and two lots of double time so I work 25 hrs and get paid for 59 - nearly another weeks wages for doing nothing - no brainer really !

not quite "things that make me happy" but more things that have made my co-workers happy. I was planning on getting douhnuts for the office i work in ( theres a greggs on site with the multi buy i was reconing abought £10 for doughnuts for everyone) one of my coworkers won a bit of cash on a scrach card and mentioned that he was also thinking the same thing this morning, so we split the cost half way and all afternoon the office has had a wonderful suger fuelled bon homme to it.
and as i dont mind a day old doughnut there probaly gonna be a couple left tommorow as well.

I cook them every morning at work along with croissants etc - when I first got the job all I had to do was serve petrol.........

The compay I work for does donut day every friday. I am the one who goes to get them, so if you make me mad you get icky donuts.

Just recieved a very nice christmas pressie from my best mate annd his mrs - a wireless keyboard for my new smart tv - hence i am typing this sat on my bed as we speak through the tv - I could move 6ft to the left and use the pc - but wheres the fun in that ?

So, as yesterday was Friday, as I posted earlier, we had donut day. Being the last weekday before the holiday, we had a number of customers bring in treats. We ended up having about 5 dozen donuts, a meat and cheese tray and a fruit and dip tray. We still have donuts left.

Well i had some great news today, the powers that b have finally got round about letting the wife home

, as soon as the sore has cleared up the funding will be ready, only down side is we will have to have a live in career 24/7
