It isn't supposed to make sense. There was also a little description which I think called those animals the narwhal's natural enemies. There was also an Avenging Unicorn that came with three people of of whom was a mime.

I've not painted anything for the last couple of months or so. A combination of feeling too ill and not having the motivation. A series of events has overcome the latter element. My 'build your own' paintset from Reaper was finally released by customs last week and we started playing GURPS Conan. I bought a miniature for my character (my first Red Box one) and this afternoon I had my first painting session in what what feels like an age; about 5 hours of therapy. It feels good to be colouring in again.

That's great news gangrel. Hope the treatmets last a very long time! No therapy quite like paintiotherapy, as long as you are getting the result you want.

I really like reaper ms paints. I've bought all that I have, with the exception of white and the colors from the learn to paint kits, in triad packs. They're relatively inexpensive and you can get lots of colors quickly. Plus highlighting is a snap. It sort of made me feel like a noob buying some of their learn to paint kits, but they were a huge help in tecnique and confidence in my painting. Now instead of crap pjs, I do fairly well.

I've never actually counted the number I've got, could be interesting.

PS 36 Triads (technically 34 as I have three of one) and 22 singles. 130 bottles of paint.

Today's episode of what makes you happy features rediculously expensive/overpriced/amazing pillows. Went into a furniature/appliance store today looking to buy a specific range hood fan. My spouse said 'Lets just walk around the store once first.' We got half way around, right beside the ludicrously expensive bed we bought last year. She noticed the expensive pillows she wanted when we bought the bed were on sale. On closer inspection they were $80 off (over £50 off) each. Two of these pillows would normally come to $358 taxes extra, £224 plus tax. We had $200 in gift cards, pillows were $98 each, so all I actually had to pay was $19 and change. Now we will theoretically not have to buy pillows for 10 plus years. Mmmmm space pillow. Thanks for the gift cards dad!

Just finished my degree second with honors I just missed out on a two one due to last minute panicing I turned two papers in late, they took twenty percent off

. I am also going to be published soon in an anthology of poetry, and the horse riding is coming leaps and bounds my instructor had me doing cossack arm stretches and standing in the stirrups while at trot. I fail to see the relevance of the exercise but she says it is important.

It's so she can start to teach you horse archery and sabre technique. Good one!

My degree is in Ancient History covering Ancient Greece, Rome, Israel and the christian conversion of Rome. I even got to write a dissertation on politics and gender in Macedonia.

Sad to say I will be the last person to complete it

numbers steadily dropped from 300 in first year to 16! In second year and finally 8 in third year. The university has decided to merge the department with modern history creating a new combined history degree, they have already shut down the Byzantine department which was what I had intended to study. Our horse took part in a show jumping class yesterday she out performed two other horses and riders who had been in competitions and jumping for the last ten years or so. Grusha has only been jumping for two weeks. I did get asked when my daughter was going to take up jumping. I don't have a daughter as I walked away in confusion I heard the person talking to my wife I only caught the last part though "oh I thought you were only 18 or 19". Yep she meant my wife who is only nine years younger than me

Odd that there is a drop off in people wanting to study history. After all, it's not as thou we are running out of it.

Unlike science. I recently asked a bunch of sixth formers in the uk why they wouldn't study science or engineering at university. They replied that everything cool had already been discovered/invented.

Modern history has gone up in numbers however people appear intimidated by ancient histor. Maybe it is because two of the lecturers have published books which are used by most universities for teaching purpises. I did a modern history module and the workload is far harder you have to defend your argument before a school body and they will pick your work apart. I've known students to leave in tears.

Bleeerruuugh to school. The last course I took was over in 20hrs. I have to go write the final test now. Then I'll have my airbrakes endorsement! woot. But that's ok because I don't have to pay for the course, only the final test which is $15.

I love history - find it really sad that most people dont have a clue even with more modern history - came across a a 20 year old who thought Auschwitz was "a german train or something ?" She was quite shocked when I explained what it was and what happened there...... she seemed to know a lot about BB and TOWIE though........

When I was in high school, we had a survivor come and speak to us about what it was like, the things he'd seen. It was very upsetting to say the least.

It's still a disturbing (and moving) episode in history. I thought I knew pretty much what went on until I read 'Maus'. I found that really disturbing, probably (almost certainly) because of the deeply personal nature of the narrative.

We had the same thing at my high school.

Earlier in the year I had a kid in my class saluting hitler in the typical manner. I ripped in to him explaining about genocide and how what he was doing was glorifying atrocities against humanity. It was a good short history lesson on the fly.
