Just won a Netherlord Mk 1 for the grand total of NZ$42, happy happy happy. I did an autobid of $42 and bet the previous bid by 50c. It was a sneaky 2 minute to go bid as well.

Won't work.  Not unless the label's printed in orc, maybe not even then.  Just because they can read it doesn't mean they'll use it.

My cat makes me happy.  She hates almost everyone.  She growls at the door when people are coming up the stairs.  Makes me giggle every time.

Getting a full night's sleep because my son (nearly 3) stayed in his bed AND got himself up at bang on 7am? Priceless!

Being woken up by an insistent "DAAAD I NEED THE POTTY"? Even better!

I am happy because another one of our little community has sent me a gift of Scarabs today (Silent Invader).

This got me thinking about how good our little community is here.  Sometimes there are trades, people pointing you to cool stuff, answering important questions, helping with model tips and also those who send you just what you need for that particular project without even accepting anything in return.

The FoD with its patrons is a very cool place and it continually finds a way to bring a smile to my face.

:metoo: People here are really nice. I've had dealings with people on here and everyone has been friendly. Ink has also been really nice to me lately and is sending on a marx car for my genestealer cult as long as I keep my son eating chocolate (which he is).

Yeah, the people here are great.  Ink was kind enough to supply me with an un-needed tunnel dweller, in exchange for cash.  Haven't had to beg someone for anything else, yet.  I haven't had anything anyone else needed either, then again, I don't exactly have much extra stuff laying around to unload on the unsuspecting :paranoid2:

More just a laugh than happy.  Ordered some books from Amazon the other day, shipping status says: Shipment Date:  Dec 31 1969 Estimated Arrival:  Jan 17 2012.  43 years?!  Who buggered that data up?

I'd be more impressed if you ordered in 2012 and they delivered in 1969.

i went in to say 'goodnight' to Luke this evening and whilst settling him for his story he said " you are a beautiful mummy and i love you very much"

I nearly cried.
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

Children have a way of saying the right thing at the right time...and the wrong thing at just the right time...you've just got to admire them :) .

Today, I smiled looking at the painting competition poll.  I can imagine some little faces knotted with concentration painting those!  Lovely stuff :) .

Had a good laugh at myself just now.  I have been trying to find a part of a story that I read in an issue of Heavy Metal quite a while ago.  I haven't been able to come up with any ideas, but I had a feeling that the story was done by Pat Mills and Olivier Ledroit, the same authors of Requiem: Vampire Knight.  So I decided to write an email to Heavy Metal.

I wrote: Hi.  This may be a bit of a hard question but here goes.  I am looking for an issue of Heavy Metal that I read once, sadly I no longer have that issue, so I am trying to find it again.  I don't know what year it was from but I do know that it was from between 1999 and 2002.  What I can remember about the story had to do with a fleet of ships moving across the galaxy, I think bringing Christianity to other planets.  One panel in the story showed a man holding a little green alien that he had given chewing gum to.  Other parts of the story involved a sport called "Dwarf Ball".  I hope I'm not getting things mixed up here.

I was going to write more but, it was at this point that I picked up the copy of 'Sha' (by Mills & Ledroit published by Heavy Metal), that I had just got in the mail from an online bookstore.  I got it on Friday Jan 13 (haven't gone beyond page 10 or so).  Lo and behold!  The fleet of ships and alien with gum are the opening few pages of part 2!   :jawdrop:  Imagine, if I had read the book the second I got it, I could have saved myself, like, the twenty minutes it's taken to write this and the start of my letter to Heavy Metal!!! :tantrum:  And, I would have said "OMG (but the whole expression, not the acronym) that's what I've been trying to find!!"

I am such a weirdo.  Look in the dang book you just got siuptd! :silly  So the issue I was trying to find was March 2000.  The brain is an odd thing...

Well, I never interacted with him on the FoD, but when I saw this picture a minute ago he was the first person to come to mind.

This is for you Grek, in your memory and honor.

ps.  I don't own this photo and I hope the owner doesn't mind.
