No rush...

Indeed. It's only been a year and a half in the making

Well worth the wait though.

Cheers

I'm happy that the HF store is open again.

What really makes me happy right now is I am begining to suspect that my roof DOESN"T leak  :boing:, that the water that made it inside was in fact driven in past the siding by the rediculously obscene weather we had this winter.  Which means I need to stop that somehow. :tantrum:

I've ordered a micro pc, with windows 2000, so that I can play all those great old games that new systems won't run.

First up, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer.

...
Also, Tachyon: The Fringe  :D :D

:metoo: A brilliant game. get the original Crimson Skies too.

You are a wise man  :D

Indeed he is.

The original Crimson Skies was ****ing amazing.  :yup:

Today's installment of "Things that make you happy":  Getting closer to getting my/our paint/hobby room put back together.  Got the sub-floor fastened down today, got the drywall half-wall sized patch on, taped, mudded, sanded and re mudded.  Might need one more layer of mud and a sand to make it all even.  Next on the list is fill in the dents and dings in the ceiling and prime the wall and ceiling, then paint the room, finishing off with making a new floor surface, and trim around the walls and window.

This 'happy' thing has been brought to you by the letter 'aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgh!' and the number 'scream!' :tantrum:

Its not really something that makes me happy, doing all the work myself.  But the end result will be freekin sweet (and more affordable).  Then I can get back to painting the lead pile. :woohoo:

Picked up the final season of BSG for a tenner in HMV yesterday - cheaper than the sale price in the online store - also got the original BBC Day of the Triffids for 6 !
Three pairs of black jeans for  36 pounds and a reduced return bus fare of 3.35 (normally 5.80) - quite a money saving day !  :lalala:
On the strange side I actually managed a shopping trip to the city and didn't buy anything hobby related.......  :scratchhead:

As an addition to my post above about young Rufus, I'd like to mention that an over-excited Jack Russell trying to get a coconut out of a lake is one of the funniest things I've seen for ages and it's cheered me right up.

One more coat of paint on the ceiling and two maybe three coats on the walls, rebuild the floor, and I get my painting room back! :boing:

Been a bit quiet round here for the last few days but I am finally sat in front of my new PC which is quiet as a mouse compared to the old one which was starting to sound like a tumble dryer !
Just in the process of reloading stuff and making it feel "lived" in - but I must admit everything is going smoothly so far........... :paranoid2:
As for the new 24 inch LED monitor - how the hell did I survive playing games on the old one all these years !  :boing:

Pencils.

I like buying pencils.  It's like nerdy retail therapy or something.  Bit glum.  Buy a pencil.  Cheer up.  Doodle with it.  See what it does.

Had a pretty bad last couple of days, and I think it'll keep going for another couple.  But I got an order of pencils in the post today, so I'm feeling pretty good right now.
Five Derwent drawing pencils to round out my collection.  Difficult to describe, but they're like artist's coloured pencils with a bit of oil pastel thrown in.  Waxier and looser than one, but harder and tidier than the other.  I like them a lot.  Here's a little something I did with them.
A Derwent tinted charcoal pencil.  White.  How do you tint charcoal white!?  I dunno.  I'll see how it compares to white pastel or chalk, though.
Lyra red chalk pencil.  A few companies do red chalk and sanguine pencils, but I haven't seen much of this brand.  It'll help me play at being anywhere near the old masters, too.
