The anticipation and eventual delivery of new figures.

On the subject of which I got my 1:1 scale daughter delivered at 4.55am yesterday morning after nearly 48 hours in labour.  Beautiful.

48 hours of labour?

Your woman is a saint.  You owe her big time.  (I am of course assuming you're not the mother, as obviously I wouldn't expect to see you online after 48 hours of labour.)

Congrats!  If its your first?  Welcome to the club.  If its your second or beyond?  I hope you didn't break the golden rule of multiple kids:

Don't have another when the older are now out of diapers for any extended period.  You'll be wondering why you decided to have another after getting back into changing those monstrosities......

Slightly reduced happiness.  Its been 3 days and both are still on the ward.  She lost a lot of blood during delivery which has a double effect of required healing time and delayed feeding as the blood loss has affected milk delivery.  :(

Hopefully they come home tomorrow, and normal happy service will be resumed.

(dont get me wrong, still happy...)

Thoughts and prayers, DanG.  My little guy had to stay in the hospital for a full week in intensive care; and now 7 years later drives me insane that he's always into things and being a normal kid.

The fact that I don't go to concerts where they charge those kind of prices makes ME rather happy

I could go a band whose fanbase consists of their girlrfriends for that price, too.

Maybe, but since AC/DC put on a helluva show, I consider the ticket price well worth it.

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

My daughter made her first train trip on her own (changing trains three times) and arrived safely. So after fretting all day yesterday during her trip I'm happy now that she made it  She's making friends all over the country thanks to this here interwebby thing.

Well, my wife and son smiling do it.

Family.

A good warm sunny day.

Getting a figure "just right" when painting.

Going for a walk with a friend.

Watching a home run for my favorite team.  (I know, darn American.....  j/k)

Packages arriving in the post.

seeing a friends email address in my inbox or their number on my cell phone.

Sunrise from the beaches in Hawai'i.

Sunrise and sunsets in the mountains of Wyoming.

You know, just after seeing some rather nasty things in these past few weeks, with work and what not; I wanted to re-iterate what brings me joy.

Thanks for sharing, Frontman. Looking at your photos gave me a nice warm feeling.
Things that make me happy? Having such great neighbours. They are the neighbours from Heaven. Since my dad lost a leg eight years ago (an event that changed all of our lives dramatically) my parents and I have experienced such wonderful kindness and generosity from our close neighbours. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. They reaffirm the notion that our society is not broken and that there are more good people about than bad. The sad thing is that you never get to hear about them.
