I could have a holiday but all I'd do is sit around here playing with models - and I get paid to do that at work :D

Having said that, I'm trying to prod Mrs Addams into a holiday of some description. I haven't been away in around 8 years (possibly more) so I'm trying to wrangle something a little special holiday wise. Whilst the price tag is concerning her, the idea of a free bar might yet out weigh her worries...

It must be expensive, My mortgage is just under $700 a fortnight, 3 bedrooms. Fixed the interest rates at just the right time

Edinburgh is one of the most expensive places to live in the UK. The housing prices never dropped here, they just kept going up.

The crime against food native to Edinburgh is "salt & sauce" on fish suppers. The "sauce" is brown sauce diluted with vinegar. Alternatively, I have had, when asking just for salt & vinegar, had white wine vinegar put on my chips.
Sacrelige!

Anyway, on topic - geeky jokes. Like:
Did you hear about the chemist who fell into the esterification vat? Doctors saved his life, but he was horribly butylated.

Two hydrogen atoms bumped into each other.

One said: "Why do you look so sad?"

The other responded: "I lost an electron."

Concerned, One asked "Are you sure?"

The other replied "Yes, I'm positive."

I just scrolled down and saw that.
Uhm...

Would you believe I meant to say:

What did the mass spectrophotometer say to the gas chromatograph?

Breaking up is hard to do.

Listening to my daughter playing the accordion. She got it two weeks ago and allready plays at least thirty different tunes
But it's a piano accordion and she's played the piano for four years so things are pretty similar, she just had to nail the pumping thingy...

She wanted a street instrument, for busking. A bit hard with a piano. So plans are to combine "Living statue" and accordion  :D

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

The new NFL Season starts on Thursday, and Channel Four's got the Sunday night games, with Mike Carlson doing the punditry.

Just met an old friend cleaning the streets outside my house. He had a job! Thing is he's been a heavy drug addict for the past 25 years after an upbringing that was really one of the worst I've ever hear of. He was tortured by his mentally ill mother for all of his childhood, since infancy. Cigarette burns, beatings, locked in for days, constant belittling and abuse, stuff like that. He's one of the kindest persons I know but has been very very broken for most of his life.
And to see him sober, with a job, smiling, coherent and happy really really warmed my heart :-)
