Like I said, an adventure

 Cool, but that's no adventure!  This is an adventure :yup: :

Getting to see amasing sights in countries and cultures so very different from your own. Where the thrill is the challenge as well as the experience.

Spending days/weeks away from civilisation (and even roads) and really experiencing the landscape and all it holds. After days of trekking, climbing to the top of a 5000m plus pass and seeing the world stretched out before you:

Also the anticipation and associated fear/thrill of your next big adventure. ...10 weeks until I'll be in Bhutan trekking for 4 weeks!  :boing:

Receiving a parcel full of mini goodness from the other side of the world.

Getting into the mini painting groove where everything just works and you can spend a whole day on a project and wonder where the hours have gone (unfotunately this one is rare for me at the moment).

...and of course doing all that stuff with my wife (except the mini deliveries!  :angrywife:)

Wonderful! Wish I knew someone who'd come along on trips like these. I'm forced to do all trekking on my own, which is great to though. Planning on Swimming and walking around Crete sometime in the future. Just a wetsuit and light packing. I'll swim the greater parts and walk along the many nice footwalking areas (most of those are on the south coast where waters are also more risky for swimming due to currents. I expects it to take at least two months or so.

Oh and getting into work last night and finding two female members of staff wrapping each other up in catering cling wrap......................best not to ask !
I was going to have a go about wasting the stuff but we have another 4 rolls in the cupboard and I wasn't complaining..........
Heaven doesn't want me. Hell is afraid i will take over !

Finding out that I may be going to be a dad. Have yet to recover from the surge of emotions. Also finding new music that I like such as Covenant, VnV Nation,Luca Turilli and deathstars. Looks like I'll be building a nursery.

I found out I only pay for my car insurance 10 months of the year  :lalala: So I proptly spent my 'saved' money on HF and Heresy modelling crack  :drevil2: (I should have saved it for food and petrol, but that would be BORING)

Waste time to your heart's content with this simple to use tone generator. Start simple and then get as complicated as you like. You can even put your name in if it's short enough!

@Somatican - I hope the news is good for you!

I guess here is a good place to say that we are also expecting a baby. On the first of January (stupid due date...). :D
Very excited at the fact, and seeing the ultrasound scan was fantastic (about four hours after my plane landed from Toronto - I was somewhat nervous before the flight that there would be delays!). Jules has been suffering a wee bit from the old morning sickness though, which i guess makes her a bit less happy...

Congratulations to all you soon to be parents. :applause:

My son was born on Jan 1st at 12:02am, first born in the state which had us in front of a tv camera, still looking the worst for wear, at 10am and handed a state bank account for him with $5000 in it plus a whole bunch of other baby items.

That's very cool.  Aren't they great, though?

Knowing I have or am going to make someone else happy I guess.
I do a lot of programming and game modding stuff which I find fun, but it's particualrly good knowing someone else will enjoy it too..  :D

Congrats to the parents here, I hope you don't mind if I say that I sincerely hope I won't join you anytime soon as I'm still only fifteen.

Not only will my friend get here tomorrow; today I got to watch a bit of sports history.

My favorite pitcher, Mark Buehrle, threw a perfect game for the Chicago White Sox today.

(For those who don't follow baseball; a perfect game is when none of the batters from the other team ever reach base.  No walks, no errors, 27 batters, 27 recorded outs.)

Its so rare, that the last one was 5 years ago; and Mark now joins a few select pitchers to have done it.  (Under 20 in the entire history of Major League Baseball.)

Those are RARE moments; and to witness it as not just a fan of the game; but a fan of the team AND the player?  Priceless.

That's what people say. I've allways been a bit disappointed by that part to be honest. Fuzzy blob... The worst part is how the nurse looks at you expectantly hoping for a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" while I'm just thinking "OK it's a fuzzy blob. Worse resolution than in most computer games". I'm quite satisfied with the final outcomes though

Congrats to Somaticon, Carcharoth and their families!  Excellent news...and if anyone says that you get no sleep and lots of stress take no notice, one little smile from your babby will melt all those troubles away .

@Brandlin - what a bonus!  I've heard that there are some great model shops in NY and that they sell all sorts of Anime/robot kits...you'll be buying loads of those, I'll bet ;).  Enjoy your trip (lucky git)!

To be honest I'm not sure I want to see more than a fuzzy blob - the points when the scan passed through the skull of the fuzzy blob where disturbing enough (skeleton-baby!). Until that point neither of us could really get our heads around the fact it was happening, and we were trying to be good and not tell too many people in case there were any problems. The scan marked a transition when we could somehow allow ourselves to get excited  :D

We heard bump's heartbeat for the first time yesterday. Not quite a work of mozart, but I liked the rapid little bdum bdum bdum...

Heck yeah, got to say it again:

Having lunch with your best friend when she drives close to 6 hours and makes a point to see you is just awesome.  It really is an awesome natural high to have that kind of friend.

I so can't wait to get up to where she lives soon and surprise her with a visit.

Just got back from best-manning at my brother's wedding(which I maintain is a good excuse for why I only took 4 photos then, but many more when I went to Houseteads).

What makes me happy?  Everything at the moment...I've drunk lots of port !

Not only that...I'll soon be back to Blighty!

I'm an Englishman abroad at the moment and I am very much looking forward to moving back to my homeland's bosom...I will be there by the end of the month...AWESOME!

What would make things better...having news of another baby like some of you lucky wotsits...it's not going to happen though (I've been told...NO!).

I'd quite like a puppy instead though :).
