Defence of the land
« on: May 04, 2009, 05:57:04 AM »

As he heard the orcs approaching, Karal muttered the words his dying father had taught him. The words that, when used correctly, would rouse the land to protect its people.

Sorry the pics are a bit dark, I just uploaded them and have to go to work in  4 minutes.

I wanted to make the ol' Collossus look even bigger than it was. I enjoyed doing this piece, although it's a bit of a nightmare to move around

Great stuff! Love the sense of scale you've got with the Demonworld (?) mini.  S?hame about the mould line on the left leg though.

The sense of size it really good, he looks huuuuge standing next to the little fella.  I'm liking the added moss too!

Clever idea!  :metoo: :metoo: I like the moss too. It reminds me some pages read in this book:

The idea of you all admiring my little guy makes me

The barbarian 10mm chap is from Kallistra and darnit on the mouldline (I've gone back and looked at the model and I still can't see it on the actual piece. Even though I know it's there!)

I have another piece almost finished - glad you guys think this one works

:hmmm :grrr:   You said you'd let me do that idea  8::: :blub:

Apart from that, the effect you've gotten is great  :applause: Well done mate its turned out brilliantly.

Also there is sadly 2 mould lines, 1 on each leg sorry mate. Damn me and my knowledge of mould lines on figures I've cast

He is excellent, Pockets! :D  I love the bits of turf still stuck to him!  And tell everyone they're not mould lines - they're geology, faults in the rock and all that ;)

Just the sort of thing I need to inspire me to get my second one finished as a rock monster!!

Yeah keeper, jump to it - watch out for those seemingly invisible mouldlines though

Didn't paint last night - was brain dead - will try and get the next piece posted on Sunday as I'm back to working on the new game this week involving much masking of boards and spraying

Wow, 10 out of 10...my best comment yet

The piece is, at heart, a different take on an old diorama I saw. In that someone had used 10 or 15mm models running from a Netherlord 1. I'm sure someone on here can find it or a link to it.

I have 2 more pieces in process at the moment - I'm hoping to have them both finished soon

Just seen this one - it looks great.

I really love the moss effect on him - I might have to nick that trick. And the little guy for scale is very cool.  :applause:
