Surely we can all just get along and have a hug. I am taking pre-orders for my hugs.

Can you give a quote for a hug and a timescale for delivery........  :P

I've avoided this thread while there were grumpy bunnies about, but I am now starting to get a bit excited.  I had to wait until after Christmas and the gas bill had been paid before I could finish paying for the big D.  Good thing I can be patient really.

He looks great Andy - top job.

wow, hadn't checked this thread for a while, blimey! I only have one relevant point.  Will it fit in an Ikea glass cabinet?  I know this is the major question you're facing, probably the only question you get asked these days.  And yes I mean assembled, for those of you that would say the bits probably would.

Been thinking about storage/transport myself. I guess your talking about this one. Fairly sure I've seen a Reaver titan in one of those Ikea cases so height shouldn't be an issue. Wing span might be more of a problem though but putting it in at an angle might work as it has a width of 41cm listed. Myself I've got a couple of deep bookcases with glass panelled doors that'll be using for display. For transport I'm looking at Battlefoam with custom foam. Was part of the reason I got one for my Dark Eldar stuff (honestly).

I know it's only been a week but how's the test casting going? Any news?

Fear not, he fits in an Ikea cabinet, although you may have to take a shelf out to allow for the height, depends on which cabinet you've got, i suppose. The cabinets I use at shows like Salute etc are Ikea ones.

Taken me a while but just caught up with this thread.

Two years ago I couldn't afford nor justify putting 100 down for a dragon. I had just bought a house with my girlfriend and had not been in fulltime employment that long. I am incredibly envious of anyone that was able to put down a deposit and know they could stump up the cash for one. Given my situation now I would happily do so. If it were allowed I would happily take up the place of anyone that felt they no longer wanted to buy the dragon, I have the money now to put down 100 - it would most defenitely be their loss not mine.

However that said I have watched this journey, commented on it, and shared it with people who are not interested in our hobby. They have all without exception ghasped at this piece and the time and work it has taken to make it look absolutely fantastic. It is universally cool.

From my perspective I cannot see how anyone has any sort of ground to stand on in terms of a moan. It has all been quite clear from the start. And this thread has never moved at a pace that one cannot keep up with. I mean it is what? 33/34 pages long, over two years is that really a lot? Thats less than a page every other week.

Infact it does sort of anger me in a sense that I have not only followed this project but also exposed it to other people who are in awe of it only to find that some people are moaning. You are buying a piece of monumental art here.

It's probably more economical to leave them behind and spend the money saved on petrol by buying from Ikea.

Having seen the almost finished Dragon at Salute, it certainly fitted into the cabinet that was there (whether or not it was Ikea...who knows?) and it was fudging awesome there...

It is my favourite dragon of all time so if I was ever to own one, I'd build my own display cabinet if I couldn't find one pre-made...IT IS THAT Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

IF ANYONE TRIES TO CHALLENGE THIS ENTIRELY CORRECT ASSUMPTION THEN THEY CAN BLEEPING WELL TRY TO SHOW ME A BETTER ONE AND PREPARE TO BE GRILLED ON THE BARBECUE OF THEIR COMPLETE FAILURE :(...

My boyfriend recently bought an Ikea cabinet for our miniatures, partially on the basis that we'd need it for the dragon. (I wanted to keep a shelf empty with a big sign on it saying DRAGON)

It's already completely filled!  :blub: Now we need to get another one.

Ikea cabinets are addictive, once you have one you just have to get more.....

I agree with that, we have 5 and they just keep getting filled!
I'm running out of space for them now!

Lol to stop myself from having to need them I just don't paint. Not sure if having selves full of primed models would look good on display...

Just a reminder if anyone has any problems paying the rest of their dragon money to just let me know. There's a MASSIVE waiting list now...

Still awaiting test castings. Hopefully this week might see some movement on that, but it depends on Ian's schedule not being chockablock with other stuff to distract him!
