To anyone out there unsure about whether to get one of these dragons, can I just say do it! The model itself it breathtaking and considering this is Andy's first go at resin casting I'm gobsmacked by how good the joins are.

Glad to hear it!

My only slight gripe is that the head turns away from the tree stump leaving it at the back of the model,

You have it facing the wrong way ;)

IT'S SO PRETTY!!! I'm frankly terrified of having to paint it now though.

Don't blame you. I know I'd want to do it in many contrasting shades and stuff like proper artists do, and would mess it up so severely...

Currently slight stall in the casting frenzy as I've had to spend the last three days making new moulds for the four pieces of tail, the big rock and a wing section so far. One tiny tear in the crook of an arm and a whole 2.5 kg mould is kaput. New moulds will work much better than the first ones though, as I've learnt a lot since then. He said hopefully.

PLease get some paint on it. Then post some pictures... PLEASE!!!!!

I won't clog this thread up with pics but if you want to see any WIP shots have a gander here;

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?257820-Daemonslave-s-Warhammer-Quest-Log/page25

I'm waiting for the primer to dry as I type this so colours shouldn't be too far off.

PS did someone once ask for this to be done in metal? This thing weighs a ton and resin is supposed to be light - you wouldn't be able to pick it up if done in metal!  :P

There are certainly places in this forum you could post your pix. We could do with more traffic.

Congrats on a hopefully successfully completed dragon rehoming.  It ended quite well in my opinion.

I'd better check for that email then.

I've got enough arms, legs, hands and tails cast up for the next 50 dragons, have just finished cutting up the head and tweaking it to stop some problems that had arisen with thin resin around the eyes leaving holes, moulding it up today. Am also in the process of making multiple moulds for the torso, rock and wings to try and get things going on a more-than-one dragon a day basis.

I am running a kickstarter imminently, the primary aim of it is to pay for all this rubber and resin cos I've spent every last penny I have trying to keep my word and get you all your dragons. (If everyone in the queue who has only paid 100 paid the difference between that and the current RRP, I would have had them all out by now.) The scondary aim of the KS is to get me enough funds that I can close the shop for a few months and just sit here casting and packing dragons (alongside the resined-up Netherlords and monsters from the kickstarter, a necessary evil.)

Sselhak - I tried looking up your email from your profile in my files and got no results. Let me know what name you ordered your dragon under and I'll let you know where you are in the big queue...

My name is name deleted and I was number 142 on the original list.

So it's a long way ...
Thanks for the news!

"A Necessary Evil" sounds like a great tagline for the Netherlord.

Aaaarrrggghhh! I'm getting ready to move, and can't join the Kickstarter!

There are some incredible models there, and I would love to get one of the big demons... but... moving.... *Whimper*

It's been quiet here for quite a while. Should I be looking somewhere else for updates these days?

Sorry about that - I'm restricting myself to only posting numbers going out etc on here. Basically, since the Kickstarter at the end of August, I've had to unexpectedly move workshop which took me 8 weeks to sort out things enough to get set up at the new one, and I've been making loads of extra moulds for the dragon bits, which takes inordinate amount of time. I have a new minion as of this week, but he knows nothing about casting and packing and I'm having to train him up too. I'm spending every day except Christmas Eve/Day and Boxing Day casting dragons until they're done at last now (well, that and making the moulds for the Kickstarter stuff).
If you want to stay on top of every little detail of the process and/or random thought I have, follow me on the various Twitter and Facebook feeds listed in my signature!

Thanks for the info. Make sure to take that break over the holidays and look after yourself.

I don't belong to twitter and I only use Facebook to keep in touch with family, but I'll use those links to check in now and then.

Currently making yet more moulds this weekend. Next dragon to be cast will be number 103. Will post some out on Monday but might take Tuesday to Sunday off due to exhaustion/burn out. Only had 9 days off this year and am more fed up than you might imagine.

PS Anybody who's been waiting for the queue to die down before they order a dragon - the Dragon will go off sale in a couple of weeks. IF it returns,(which will depend on moulds remaining usable, etc) then it will cost more than it currently does, and will only be available sporadically when i can be bothered to cast it. I have to draw a line on the numbers so I can move onto the Kickstarter fulfilment immediately after the queue is done. Don't come complaining to me, you've had 5 years to get in the queue!  :paranoid:

My dragon just arrived in the mail!! I just opened the box, and holy shat its a big boy. Only one problem with the shipping that I could see so far, tip of one of the wings broke off. BUT it looks like it will be easy to glue back on since it was a clean break. Now I just need to start cleaning it all and putting it together.

P.s. The gf liked the candy

Hey Andy,
mind telling me how many more dragons are before me?
A big thank you for your perseverance!
