Judging by the size of the figure next to it, the round base it's currently on is either ~85mm or ~105mm - I can't remember whether Andy uses 25mm or 30mm bases for his figs.

It looks like its on one of Fenris Games' 100mm bases.

It is. I took the rock off a homemade 80mm square base, though, and will be badgering fenris to make me a proper 80mm one nearer the time that the dragon is finished.

I'll post an update tonight or tomorrow re the dragon. Although it doesn't look like much work has been done, trust me, it's been a lot of work. I've had to re-do the neck several times to add bulk or reposition the head slightly. So annoying. Spent half an hour just carefully cutting into the neck to remove it so I could get in to the inside curve. I've got a set of horns on the go that I'm not 100% sure I like, so I'll be asking your opinions.

Oh yes! the dragon to beat all dragons. I shall certainly put in a deposit when I can afford- but for now I'm feeling poor due to buying my first car and its insurance.  :notworthy:

OK, I've just uploaded some new pics to the site:

http://heresyminiatures.com/dragonwip.htm

I like the top horns, but the lower horns feel sort of odd. They'll look a bit different once finished, but it gives the dragon a different character...

I think I may make all the horns separate so people can add to taste. I'll be doing some longer 'elegant' horns too.

Really like the horns, and I think the lower ones balance the head more and make it look more 'finished'...
The neck looks excellent in that closeup  :applause:

Oh yes.  That's quite excellent. :D

The horn texture seems a little rough in the the top two pics, but better in the third.  The joys of photographing procreate?
The two-horned look and four-horned look both look great to me.  If push comes to shove I think I'd pick the four horns, for the same balance reason.
Loving the compression wrinkles in the neck.

What's the human mini used for scale?  I'm getting a Peter Cushing vibe off it.

Right character, wrong actor ;) Been trying to finish that one but started a dragon instead. I hate doing clothing, but his face is quite good IMO (best from the front). Can you guess WHO it is now?

I can't believe I'm going to say this but... it's getting better! I have to agree that the lower horns give the head a more balanced look. My one worry from the previous WIPs was that the head looked a little narrow but with the lower horns it's spot on. Excellent work, young man. 10/10
It's a shame the smileys don't contain a gold star or two as well.

I have to admit that i was not that imrpessed with the first pictures. But now...  i absolutely love the muscles and elbow-scales of its/his/her right arm. Love the pose and the head. Those hornes could be a little larger, but i would keep the triangle-shaped profile and give them only little structure, maybe even keep them smooth the way the right top horn is right now?

Will have to amend the household budget first, but i think you have a new customer here.

Completely agree with the four horns idea. It adds much more ferociusness to the dragon. Personally I think the tongue is a little short, although I'm not saying it should protrude from the mouth as that would make it look more like a drunk dragon. It's getting better by the day. Great work Andy.
