Questions and Answers / adding a net to a mini?
« on: April 24, 2010, 11:03:18 PM »
i'm trying to convert a gladiator miniature into a retiarius, which used a trident(the mini has one already) and a net

now, would the best option be to scuplt a net or use something like a small net fabric?

also how would i sculpt a net

the mini i have(now without shield and i've bent the arm down a bit)

and here's the sort of thing the net should look like

I love everything in this mini below the neck, it's amazing. As SB said the green of the trousers is fabulous. I'm not sure the skin tone and hair and lip colour all work together too well though. All individually very nice but together it's not quite right for me. It's still pretty damn good though :)

i totally agree, every little bit is just loverly, but all the make up kinda makes her look like a drag queen, and oddly a little like julian clary

edit: looks like drucilla from buffy from the front shot, but blond, which works rather well

anyone else confued by my thoughts too?

I'm thinking of doing the next one up in red though.

i painted mine in red just the other day

both of those minis look rather nicely painted, but like the others have said, needs a piccy taken from another, lower angle

Questions and Answers / Re: Cork Tiles
« on: May 30, 2009, 04:38:04 AM »
you may not be able to find cork tiles because of health and safety.....something to do with fire hazards, same thing for the old polystyrene tiles which were really useful for building hills, castles and forts

i'm pretty sure b&q still sell the white polystyrene tiles, well they did about a month ago

Suggestions. (BS) / Undead Pirates(with pics)
« on: May 04, 2009, 11:33:08 PM »
after seeing the wonderful fantasy pirates(some of which i will be ordering next week) i instantly thought of this image

i know reaper and probably do undead pirates, due the the pirates of the carrabean movies, but i doubt any would do them half as well as you would do them

i know due to legal reasons that exactly wouldn't be possible, but i personally would buy at least 3 or more of something similar

here's a couple more pics for reference and inspiration

Questions and Answers / need a thought or two on a terrain project
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:42:15 AM »
right i've had this idea for a terrain project, but im stuck on a bit

basicly it's 5 dungeon rooms, one for each element: fire, water/ice, earth/stone and wind/air, with a central chember(kinda the crystal maze for elves :silly)

with each all room being around 6-9" square

but i have no ideas how to represent the air bit

i'm open to all and any suggestions

Eolith/Spyglass / Re: a bint for christmas, but a bit later than that now
« on: January 01, 2009, 08:17:10 PM »
thanks guys

i'm 95% happy with her, there are 3 things "wrong" but i'm happy enough to leave her

1. under her eye is a bad wash line
2. a bit on the dress isn't shaded as well as the rest
3. the eyes are a bit off

the purity of the red is due to the use of 2 coats of clear red over the whole thing

here's my latest sexy bint, the elementalist

i painted her over the last couple days, taking a little more carethan i usually do, and using reaper master series paints, she looks a little shiny, but that's just the poor light(her bum looks really shiny for some reason)

C&C are welcome, and happy new year to all you fodders
