Suggestions (HF) / ok, this is a little off the wall

Glasses: a head sprue (male and female) would be nice, also including sunglasses (and maybe even a monocle).

The Colouring-in Room / The Grymn need basing
« on: March 18, 2006, 10:33:29 AM »
Nice additions could also include:
a few small offcuts from cables or coated wires coming out of the ground to represent cables,
plastic sprue cut up and painted to look like smaller girders (or at least parts of them),
depending on size some cogwheels/ gears (broken and intact) properly rusted and weathered could be used as well,
if you can find some bits of coloured or clear plastic sheets you could use them for broken glass on the bases (add part of a window frame made out of plastic sprue as well),
other stuff to put on industrial bases include manholes, pipes protruding from the ground, bits of corroded corrugated "iron" sheeting

Yes, as Bohkin get older, their muscle and bone mass increases. Basically they the older they get, the bigger and more aggressive they get too.

Cool, looking forward to meeting the old ones.

Names: will you stick to German(ish) names?

If so:
knapp (meaning short, narrow, scantily and a few other things as well).
wenig (~ few, little, sparse)
winzig (~ diminutive, minuscule, tiny)

With the lovely new Bohkin shown, I just have to ask something I've been meaning to ask since a while: will there be a nice 'big one' as support for the Bohkin as well (like Geezer for the Grymn)?

[...] ink; thanks for the larger pic.

No problem, wanted to know what birdmonkeys look like (trolls can be very curious creatures), so spending a tiny amount of time to let everyone else have a look too seemed like the polite thing to do.

I'd do the basic shape of the glasses then wait until the greenstuff has cured to "detail level" - it depends on 1. climate 2. The ratio of blue to yellow 3. The indoor climate of your particular apartment. In my apartment right now with a ratio of two yellow parts to one blue it's usually about one hour and forty minutes.
Once it has reached this level of hardness simply cut the frames around the glasses with a scalpel.

Or put the greenstuff in the freezer for a little while to harden it a bit (but be carefull as it will get softer again after being exposed to room temperature).

Maybe adding a bit moss to and around the tree? That way the boots could stay as they are and there'd be a bit of green to prevent the brown from being overwhelming.
On the tree I guess painting the moss on would be enough, on the ground you could use some green flocking material.

Two pics for a little inspiration: moss one, moss two

I guess you could just buy some blank dice and add the symbols using decals (there's different decal papers available for printing your own decals) or even simpler print the symbols onto those labels from avery and others.

« on: March 10, 2006, 03:52:52 PM »
Yes, they're called kender and there was a place called Kendermore in the dragonlance books mentioned if I remember correctly (it's been quite a while since I read them).

Deathball / Pitch/ Arena
« on: March 08, 2006, 11:59:59 PM »
Slightly stupid question: did any of you ever try out vacuum forming?

I have been reading a bit about vacuum forming at home and thought it might be a good method to make a pitch.
Since you don't really seem to need much more than a box/ table with a frame that's connected to a vacuumcleaner, a frame to hold the plastic, an oven and a model (and time to experiment) it might be a cheap(ish) way to create a pitch or scenery for an arena.

General Ranting / a question of gaming
« on: March 02, 2006, 05:48:03 PM »
Another game that might be worth giving a try is Vor The Maelstrom (no, I'm not just suggesting this because I like Growlers).

It's a bit older and as I have said before I'm not a gamer (and thus have never played it) but maybe someone else here can tell you a bit more about the game.
As far as I know the rules are not that complicated and you can field anything from 6 to about 100 figs per side. Plus you can use what ever figs you want to.

Not a gamer meself, but I would give Necromunda and/ or Mordheim a try, especially since you can download the rules for free.

Weapons that can be used as vehicles (or the other way round) are very practical you know...

Whenever I look at this version of Amoy I find meself thinking 'sk8 or die' would be an appropriate title. Really like the head/ face.
