Deathball / Re: Injury minis

Yup, casualties would be a nice addition (as would be a merchant with some sort of vendor's tray selling stuff to the crowd)

Stupid question: what exactely is facebook? I clicked the link, but it didn't seem very interesting (probably I should be more interessted in actually talking to people I guess)

Ah, someday somwhere someone will do them (knowing my luck probably as limited editions that are all sold out by the time I find the site offering them).

Wonder if these newish resins (the kind that's more like plastic) wouldn't be good for vehicles in general. Less brittle/ likely to break but not as bendy as some plastic stuff out there.

Eye Candy / Re: Village kiddies
« on: September 02, 2008, 09:32:46 PM »
Whenever there's some more of the kiddies added to the range, I wonder how you'd feel if someone zombiefied them (referring to the minis obviously) because I quite often think if I ever bought some I'd probably do just that. Simply not enough undead little ones out there.

580
I was more thinking resin with metal parts. (I didn't even mention how nice it would be if there were conversion kits to turn them into armed retro scifi flying/hover cars).

I know it's not the best way to earn good money, not last of all because the vehicles probably would have a rather limited range of buyers. As for retailers, I guess the most sensible way (costwise) would be to sell them on the webshop exclusively.

Random Chat / Re: Hobbit wishlist in SFX

Thanks, will watch it later

As this seems a fitting place to ask again:
Add some musical instruments as well, for conversions. Guitars, a bass (I mean an upright/ double/ whateverelseitscalled bass*), drum kit. (Surely some day one of the companies on here must give in and realize what a great opportunity this is to earn almost nothing from something that takes up a lot of time to sculpt)

*

Some hotrod gangs would be nice. Might even be a good basis for some postapoc conversion and zombies and so on.
And some nice fifties style hotrods would be really great**, also some motorcycles and drivers for both.

**(as would be yakuza in Hawaiian shirts)

wow, helpfull as hell,
question, can you save the vids from youtube? or can youi send me the tut? i dont have internet on the home comp yet.
You (still) can download videos from youtube. There's some addons for firefox that let you do just that (the one I've used the few times I downloaded something was 'Flash Video Resources Downloader '), there's also some other programs.

Ideas for New Heresy Models / Re: Half-dragon heads
« on: August 31, 2008, 09:40:42 PM »
[...]These "dragon lizard people" are supposed to be able to give birth and stuff (and look like one of the daftest playable races ideas since Planescape came out).

Do you mean fluff wise or from an aesthetic point of view?
Some look good, others less so. Wouldn't mind some nice Draconians, so maybe an additional set of wings & tails to go with these would be a good idea

586
Haven't forgotten about this, but other stuff keeps interfering.
After I finish sculpting that little demon I started, I'll get back to making some more tiles. I'd appreciate some more ideas/ comments on the tiles made (not the demon since I won't show any wips or he'll suffer from the neverfinishitsyndrome).

The carpet- is that a piece of cloth you painted? Carpet and pillow have a nice satin look to them.
Both miniatures look very good, first one's really clean and smooth looking.

Announcements and News / Re: August Releases officially in shop

One thing I haven't quite figured out is in what category you placed Titus! I can only reach him through the front page, but not from the store. :eh:

And I thought I was having one of those dumb moments.

Suggestions (HF) / Re: Sci-fi Riflemen poses?
« on: August 29, 2008, 11:12:24 AM »
Finding a miniature in the right pose really isn't that easy. I'm seriously considering converting something as that seems to be the 'simplest' way

hm, only miniature I can think of in a similar pose to what I'd like to see is this 54mm one by Andrea Miniatures:

Oooh look at her... does my bum look big in this?
Somehow I doubt that cowskull'll answer ...

The last one's blocked, ink.
hm, replaced it with the same pic from a different source. Does it work now (it's just Mad Max)?

not exactly a fighting pose, but rifle over the shoulder:
(was the first pic I found)

that should be enough pics to explain what I mean

The Spyglass Melting Pot / Re: A Lady friend.......
« on: August 28, 2008, 03:04:36 PM »
I'll be honest, I've no clue at all as to Spyglass' direction for the time being. It's blatant that nothing I'm doing right now is striking a chord with the buying public at large.
I just buy what I like, since not being a gamer means I don't have to buy units and i don't have to worry about how different companies' minis look when ranked up together. That said I think the main problem (besides longish periods of no new releases) is that you don't really have a coherent range of minis that could be used as (small) units as of yet. Most of your minis are more interesting for painters/collectors or for use as characters for rpgs.
I bet once you'd concentrate on one or two 'army themes' for a while you could sell more. For example two more barbarians and two or three female barbarians (all of which ideally should be easily convertable to postapoc stuff, that way you'd cover two genres at once) would most likely generate more sales than just one or two barbarians since that would allow people to buy a unit at once instead of just a single miniatures that might not fit in with what they allready have.

Seems to be international day of no access. I've had a lot of trouble accessing sites (not just miniatures related forums), atm everything seems to work just fine.

Unsurprising. He has a habit of painting over pics from... err... adult magazines.
That's recycling then - environment friendly art...

Some postapoc stuff would be nice btw.

Do you still have the other one? Would be interesting to see them directly side by side.

This one's looking warm colourwise (hope that makes sense), especially the skintones. Love the way you've painted the jacket, really accentuates the different parts/ textures.
Base is lovely and complements the mini nicely and really helps to give it that outdoorsy feeling too.

Libertee's Miscellaneous Musings II / Re: Cars!
« on: August 23, 2008, 11:16:46 PM »
My car was a victim of attempted theft.  They smashed it up, insurance have written it off - and will give me.... £50 on my claim!  50 bleepin quid.  Fair enough the car is only worth £660, but 50 quid is a disgrace.  I pay £300 a year for them to do that![...]
 This makes me feel quite angry (to put it very politely) and its not even my car.
