Messages - ink the troll

A few of them tweaked a bit here and there (reposing them a bit for more variety, adding a few branches, moss and leafs) should turn them into quite a nice unit.

Apparently the Rockmen are actually multipart sculpts
Was referring to the forest guardian.
Although i'm convinced that adding a few broken off branches, leaf litter and some rootish looking bits to the rockmen + maybe even adding some putty worms here and there, then painting them in earth colours probably would look good...

or we could all ask for ............ a 90mm harem girl  and you all thought i was going to say something else well a new version of suzi might be good
Or a certain Miss J. Baker. Would be of good use for pulp games as well.

re-added vote for the dwarf cannon, also voted for the rockmen and the forest guardian thingy. A few of them tweaked a bit here and there (reposing them a bit for more variety, adding a few branches, moss and leafs) should turn them into quite a nice unit.

I at first thought it was some sort of strange gingerman blowup doll, then I realised it's 'just' a costume.

General Ranting / Re: paypal not allowing a payment to be made?
« on: September 23, 2008, 05:33:17 PM »
As I said earlier, I transferred the money to my paypal account just like I was supposed to do according to the paypal site (using the combination of letters and numbers stated online to be used as reason for payment). Now I read the paypal email informing me that the payment's still open (no surprise there, since transferring money does take 3-5 days according to paypal) and they actually want me to use a completely different combination of letters and numbers as reason for payment.
By now I'm quite sure there never was any security problem, simply some sort of error on the paypal site, that totally screwed up my attempts to make a payment. I'm not amused (to put it very politely).

I ended up transferring money to my paypal account since the longer I wait the longer it'd take for Sally and Kev to actually receive the payment.
Paypal -they haven't answered my email as of yet...

It's linked and confirmed since I opened my paypal account.

The only bit in the help section I could find was something about how due to internal security measures this kind of payment sometimes isn't available as option but probably might be again next time. Not very helpful and very strange. It's not as if I'd like to paypal half a gazillion $ to some obscure terrorist organization. I wrote them a very polite email asking what's going on- I hope the bastards have the decency to reply.

General Ranting / paypal not allowing a payment to be made?
« on: September 22, 2008, 09:58:54 PM »
Since about 40 minutes I'm trying to make a payment of £11,50 via paypal (to Hasslefree) .
Usually that's not a problem. I just click the 'pay now' (or whatever it says in the english version)  button in the email, log into my paypal account and confirm the payment. Payment made. A few days later paypal has automatically withdrawn the money from my bank account and that's that.

But now paypal keeps insisting I either have to pay via credit card (impossible, since I simply don't own one) or have to first put some money in my paypal account (which would take 3 to 5 days, according to paypal), telling me it's impossible to make the payment any other way.

Anybody ever had something like that happen, it's a bit confusing for me not being able to pay the same unproblematic and fast way as usual.

I'll order one as well. He'll end up either as Orc or something post apocalyptic (mutations are allowed, right?).

ok, changed my vote for the canon into one for #29 (Orc)

Hope the new temporary job turns into a permanent one, i'll keep my fingers crossed

Deciding what to vote for wasn't that easy.
In the end I voted for what I'd probably enjoy painting the most (and thus most likely would buy). So for me its #14 since the Ogre's got some nice bad attitude and would fit in a fantasy setting as well as post-apoc stuff (huge Mutant brawler or something) and has the potential for some fun conversion, #19 'cause I like Orks/ Orcs and creatures with piggy noses in general and #2 since it's got a certain charming oldschool look and quite a lot of character.

Yup, small but not tiny.
Does that mean there'll be some comrades for the little guy soon(ish)?

very subtle, Brandlin
Although a grav bike really would be nice.

Anyways, I voted for Libby. She looks like a fun mini to paint.

I guess leather jackets and sturdy shoes like doc martens would also add a bit of protection.

Or some protective hockey equipment like:
shin guards http://www.midwestskate.com/Hockey/HKshin_guards.htm  , http://www.kempshockey.com/product-sidebars/shin-sidebar.jpg

chest pad http://www.midwestskate.com/Hockey/HKchest_pads.htm  , http://dsp.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p3581676p275w.jpg

elbow/ forearm protection http://dsp.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p3414599p275w.jpg

You could even improvise crude leg/ arm armour with household items like metal sheets + duct-tape

Hmmm...now do i vote tactically.....if Libby doesn't win, she's bound to crop up again next month...or go for the Elf.....

nope she wont, whoever doesnt win this vote will not necessarily be up next month
didn't you say something about the two not winning going into the next mould on another topic or was that referring to the next poll?

looks as if he was thinking something like 'Oh my, time for walkies again? Now where did I put that leash and the meat treats...'

This makes more sense when you imagine that's one of his pet ghoulies in the pic below

General Ranting / Re: The art of taking pics of minis (need help)
« on: September 13, 2008, 01:48:52 PM »
1) Does your camera have macro (symbol is a little flower)? If so use it.

2) If you don't have a tripod, try resting your camera on a pile of books or similar or at least rest your arms on a table to help you hold the camera steady.

3) Try to focus on the minis, check the display for a preview (I simply guess you've got a digital camera).

There's some links to tutorials & some hints, if you use the search option you should find them
