Some sort of molosser/ mastiff? Would fit in with ancients...
Bodhi's right, quite a classical pose (and a good one). Will be interesting to see this taking shape.

First one reminds me a bit of a golem or an ogre, no idea why- it's probably the legs.

Will the second one be some sort of setter dog (dog)? Could be something like a leopard trained for hunting as well, but somehow looks more like a dog to me.

That was quick!
Great idea, nice conversion & paintjob - definitely looks pulpy. One little niggle: maybe the tentacles would look better if they were a bit wet/ glossy.

Great. That'll truly be an international order then.

Yep, paypal makes a lot of things easier. I just thought if Balgin ordered something than that would save me the troubles of either ordering from cmon (something I've never done and somehow don't really want to do) or from Australia. Since postage costs are quite high it doesn't seem worth ordering just one miniature.

By the time AnnaLisa's back in stock the mini I want probably is out of stock anyways, making this post redundant. I think I'll just go paint some chronopia dwarves now.

Do you have some pastel chalks? Pastel dust + superglue.
I'll try to take a pic (battery needs recharging).

Sorry, forgot that was you who doesn't have a paypal account.
I guess I could buy you some miniatures and send them to you (or if you'd like something from one of the companies here, I'd asked them to send the mini(s) to you directly).

While I don't want a copy of AnnaLisa since I have no use for her, if you do order something let me know (then I'd paypal you money for one of these, would be nice for a post apoc mutant).

Could be an advertising campaign for a game.

Start with something small. But have the bigger hammers lined up next to you, to make sure the offending miniature can clearly see the horrors the not too distant future has to offer...

Suggestions (HF) / Kindred civilians/ workers?

Any chance of some civilians?
Quick sketch to explain what I'm suggesting:

Judges have already been done:
pic
Neat, had forgotten about them

Although the comic idea is a pretty good one, I can't see Judge Dredd & the Rocketeer fitting in well with Sagunt's Starwars Grymn ;).

Must've misunderstood that then. I thought he was looking for another 'setting' as background for some more conversions as well. They would look a bit out of place next to stormtrooper grymn.

Maybe some comic character conversion? Just asking 'cause the helmet wings could be used for a Thor conversion (I've never read the comic, so can't comment if it's any good).
They grymn easily could be painted  to resemble Judge Dredd & fellow judges.
Some of the Bokhin + jump-packs + a bit of putty = a unit of modernised rocketeers (http://www.mwctoys.com/images/RocketeerLooseSide.jpg), to give your grymn an enemy to fight

One more reason to get my digital camera fixed. It's the strangest problem. It says the memory card is locked... :?
What kind of memory card do you have? Some have a little plastic slider thingy/ lock used to make sure the data on the card can't be deleted.
example:

the gray bit is the lock

Some Heresy & Black Scorpion stuff would work as basis for supers as well.
The dynamic pose of this guy or super dynamic Boris would work well, Scumbore would make a good huge brawler type.
For a slightly less human look Black Scorpion's Aliens would be good or Echo for a bit of a dark/ mysterious character. Even some minis from the tombstone & pirates ranges would make interesting supers (e.g. the sheriff, the still to be released Morgan Earp or Black Jack Davey)
Sorry for bombarding you with suggestions.

.:edit:.
short zombie- should this little guy be released, a couple of them would be good as henchmen for somesort of voodoo villain.

i was thinking of that but didn't want to push people away from spending their money here. have hasslefree ever thought of stocking jeff's bases? they are effing gorgeous. the wood bases are nice too. postage stope me ordering, but if you sold them........

Being able to order them without the high postage costs would be nice. Like you I've never ordered any because of this (and fear of customs). Just not sure if Hasslefree would profit much enough from selling them to make it worth stocking them, with the temporarily not so great economic state the world is in.

One of these things used for cutting branches off trees & trimming hedges, maybe with a saw attachment.

I vote for turquoise blue for Xray, like the skeleton from Quake III Arena: [...]
Seconded. That way you can use a bluer hue for shadows and a slightly more glowy green for highlights.
Possibly experiment on a spare mini first though, just in case it turns out looking too much like a Halloween candy skeleton colourwise.

[...] Cajun/creole music [...]
Cajun and zydeco music can be quite fun, don't know a single band by name though. Once taped a nice documentary they had shown on tv, I wonder if I still have that video tape somewhere.
Actually sometimes even polka can be good, if played incredibly fast and in a slightly strange way.

Back on topic: I don't think anything gives me goosebumps in a good way. Trolls ain't all that emotional.

Tutorials / Re: Thought I'd have a go at Dipping
« on: January 20, 2009, 07:42:00 PM »
I wonder if those that pay over a tenner for each tin realise they can get the same results with a small tin of woodstain for £2.99  :?
Some of them probably still wouldn't believe it, if you dipped them with woodstain. Woodstain's not being marketed as the best way to paint your armies quickly to a high standard using only the finest blablabla, plus it's cheap so it obviously can't be any good...
(Nevermind the fact that stuff like woodstain, shoepolish and other relatively cheap and common things have been used since quite a while for achieving exactly that effect.)

So far they (still) don't really have a webshop, maybe they think they don't need to state the address?
