Alternatively, there's a stunningly handsome bald guy in the background around 2:30 - selling a Ghonad to a man obsessed with barbarians!

Nawwwww...I'm not a champ, I just help out...

I love my week at Heresy - as much hard work as it is, I wouldn't have it any other way!

But...you have a fully signed up Brush for Hire in the workshop

  :lmao:

Surely he can do some! It's not like they're Space Marine goblins!

I'm totally in love with the archer champion which has to be one of Andy's best sculpts so far and the archer musician!

Of course, the dwarf on mechanical bull will be so so much better!  :yup:

We all pulled together to get it done! I got a free pint at the local pub too!

Ideas for New Heresy Models / Dwarf on a mechanical bull
« on: April 18, 2011, 01:04:40 PM »

On the way back from Salute, I suggested a dwarf mounted on a mechanical bull - not the rodeo type of mechanical bull, although that would be hilarious to see...

Some grizzled old dwarven noble, on his hissing and clanking mechanical bull as it stomps its way into battle...

Of course, then the conversdation turned to mounting Ghonad on a Juggernaut of Khorne and gluing a Netherwang onto a Slaanesh boobworm, so I think we might have gotten off topic a little....

Salute rolls around and, we hope, it's going to be busy...

 This year was...non-stop!

I managed to snap a few pics throughout the day, but we were pretty much serving people and being cheerful for the whole duration of the show!

For anyone who is a bit more tech savvy than me, some of those last pics, the ones labelled 9, 10, 11 and 12 can be spliced together to give you a picture of how the whole stand looked! My phone didn't have one of those panoramic options on so I had to do as best I could.

At the start of the show, we even saw the first dragon go to a paying customer!

Hold fire all those  people who pre-ordered and are about  to say 'Oi! Where's my dragon!' These were factory imperfects that need work to be complete, they were being sold to people at the show - the perfect dragon will be on it's way to you once Boris and Reaper are happy with the results and will contain the additional figures that weren't in the boxes that this guy and the 9 others got....please don't send angry emails to Andy...the explanation of what happened is here!

And then, just the packing away to do, a trip to Pizza Hut (our Heresy tradition) and the drive back to Derby, to unload the van and get back home!

Thanks for a great week go to Big Boris, Reaperman and Stu Witter who helped out on the stand, also to Sarah - Reapermans long-suffering and considerably better half, Kev, Sally, Matt, Mark and Sam...all of the millions and millions of people we saw at the show and chatted to and the utterly wonderful Pizza Hut waitress who deserves a mention because she was really nice!

 Same again next year, folks!?

  :boing:

Once we had spent hours and hours getting prepared, we just had the simple  :huh?: task of loading  up the van and getting set up at the show! Sadly, the stand imps we hired to do all the work for us didn't turn up, so we had to do it all ourselves!

Look! Santa Boris has called by the workshop to leave gifts for Big Boris, Pockets and Reaperman!

These are actually the blister racks, wrapped neatly in black plastic to stop the packs from falling off while we ride down to London in our wonderful Luton chariot!

The stuff is packed according to a very precise plan only written in Big Boris' brain...I just pass the stuff over as and when I'm told!

Then it's off to London, observing the usual collection of muppets on the roadc! Some of us cope better with the long hours...

 than others do...

Once we hit the Excel centre, all of the stuff miraculously flies out of the van and sets itself up...well, I wish it did...we have to then unload the van and get all of the stuff in the right place for the following day!

And before any of you smartypants ask - yes, we remembered the shelves this year!!!!

So...once the stand is all set up...we're off to bed early because, we hope, tomorrow will be a busy one...and was it you ask?

 Have a look here!

I am now back home after my usual week of pre-Salute fun at the Heresy workshop! Despite a lot of you thinking that it's all cocktail parties and celebrity after-show parties, I've managed to take some pics this year so you can see what goes on before Salute for the Heretics!

I've set up three threads - some with more pics than others...this is the first, showing our Prep!

I arrived at the workshop to the usual cheery greeting!

One of the usual tasks awaiting me, primarily because Reaperman hates doing it, was blistering up the bases...

 First, get a blister pack

Load it up with bases to the desired weight

 fold and add an insert

Remove the little plastic chit from the hanging hole (Reaperman doesn't often do this!)

Then add to the small collection of packs you've already done...and start again!

All of the blisters are packed this way - by hand - and for the smaller packs of bases, we count them out by hand to make sure you're not shortchanged!

In addition to this, because the codes on almost all of the range changed this year, we had to relabel EVERYTHING! I put together a little guide on this too for all you wannabe minions out there!

 First, take incorrectly labelled blister

Apply new label with correct coding and price

Add to the small collection of blisters to be hung for the show

This doesn't cover all of the prep, but hopefully shows you just how much work is done beforehand to get your miniatures to you in those superb looking packs!

Reaperman started the Salute prep before Christmas and Boris, Reaper and I worked some pretty long hours this week to make sure everything was set to go...

I was bouncing ideas around in my head and I thought, what if there was a range of small familiar type creatures - sort of rounded...possibly fatty looking, some could look infected

The sort of thing that could be mistaken, by the casual observer, to be Adipose or even tiny versions of a particular Demon of Pestilence...

With a bit of cautious sculpting, the same rtange could fit both categories!

And who doesn't like popping the occasional zit :P

Today was a particularly dull day at work - although don't tell my boss! So, while waiting for the next person to call in to complain, I thought I'd look for a decent gorgon/medusa model.

They seem to be fairly rare - I mean...there's some out there, but I'd love to see a Heresy 'take' on it.

Snake bodied or human bodied, I really don't mind...

Yeah, I've been spoilt by the FoD companies - I'm used to receiving replies to my emails and my orders in less than 2 weeks.

Kind of torn as to what to do...I shall ponder some more

I placed an order with Spriggan two weeks ago, but alas no sign of my metal. I have emailed to chase the order - but got no reply... Does anyone know if they are still trading or am I going off to paypal to get my money back?

 I'm into cavalry lately!

 Spyglass: Hurk
Black Scorpion: The Fat Mexican - he looks like a guy from our club
 Hasslefree: Ana (without helmet)
Heresy: Now, you got me...I think I'll have to go with the Ghoul King

Just an idea I had about 4 am this morning that the tunnel guard, with their assorted masks, might do well if they had some new arms with shotguns, pistols, rifles, etc.
