Heresy / Coventry Gaming Forum - 2nd place piece
« on: July 15, 2011, 07:30:07 AM »
My little forum for Wargaming clubs in Coventry recently held a Heresy painting competition, Mr Foster was the judge and we also had a forum vote.

I've posted the other entries on here too, but coming in second was this bad boy!

Would fit into Tombstone for Black Scorpion - they'd also be great as stand alone pieces...could even be cross-genre. No reason why War couldn't be a cyborg on a bike or something like that.

Fair enough - I was more thinking of spreading the awareness of other companies on the FoD than perpetuating people going to the same company over and over.

  :woohoo:

 @Bergil

Why can't you see any of the companies wanting to do this? I'm just interested in your viewpoint...

Personally, if I was at Salute and bought one of the set and was told - there's 3 (or 4) in this set, you can get the others at X and Y, I'd definately go and take a look - even if I didn't eventually buy the other one or two, I still might see something I like.

At the same time, if I bought from a site and learnt that the model was part of a set and the links were there to see the others...it's not costing me anything, logistically, to go and have a look at the other models...

There's nothing preventing people from only buying one, but in my experience, gamers and collectors LIKE having sets of things.

Of course, it's only a suggestion and whether anyone picks it up and runs with it lies in the hands of Andy, Kev and Sally and Adam...Mike too if people clamour for him to join in.

The horsemen would be good - but you'd, technically, need a fourth company for it...

 The FoD Must-get-beers...

 The Three Stooges  :lmao

If it takes off and the FoD Three want to do it, then perhaps a vote can be arranged for potentials?

I think it would really work well, it might mean that the people who ONLY buy from one company visit the other two sites and get a taste of slightly different sculpting styles.

And if the right sort of theme could be found, it might work really well to showcase the strengths of each sculptor!

  :boing:

I was only thinking of the functioning companies, but the more the merrier, I guess :)

I'm thinking anything where there's 3 members and the FoD companies could make some cold hard profit!

Suggestions. (BS) / A FoD collaboration - BS
« on: July 03, 2011, 04:41:06 PM »

Just an idea which popped into my head as I was sitting here watching BlockBusters in case Mr Foster was on it...

What about a set of miniatures that each company puts into. Originally, I was going to suggest 'The Seasons' with the FoD having four companies, but I'm not sure if Steve is still doing the freelance thing.

This drew me to ponder, what trio could the FoD come up with - my first thought was 'The Fates'

Basically, each company does one of them - after that the sales options are up to the companies; I'm thinking each of them sells their particular one but has links for the other members of the group in their particular store...something like...

'This model is one of a set of three produced as part of a collaboration between the companies on the Forum of Doom <link>, the other members of the set can be found <link> and <link>

Not sure if it would work, but might sort of distribute sales across all three companies and spread awareness.

It doesn't have to be The Fates...just thought it might be a bit of fun to see the FoD companies working on something together...could be a good thing for Salute now I come to think of it.

So...hypothetically speaking....what sort of size are you thinking this deity-esque being working out at? I mean, in my head, Cthulhu isn't exactly tiny!

I'd prefer to see some Deep Ones first or something like that!

Suggestions (HF) / Not-Celebrity Zombies
« on: May 03, 2011, 07:54:51 AM »

Just an idea that pootled into my head for some zombies that may look like famousers!

John McEngroan with a tennis racket and headband could not be taken seriously! Davina McCall already got zombified in the Channel 4 spoof of Big Bother

There's faaaaaasands of zombie collectors out there, who I'm sure would quite like a few dead celebs to round off their collections!

How about a heavily armoured, lantern-jawed Grymn who might possibly be considered to be the Law...if the light is right and you look at him through squinty eyes

 Take this I will, yessss!

Suggestions (HF) / Female dwarf slayer
« on: April 23, 2011, 08:45:24 PM »

There's billions, not literally, of Slayer models out there on the market, but they're all distinctly male

I'd love to see a female slayer out there - surely I can't be the only one!
