Heresy / Group Effort - Salute stand! - lots of pics!
« on: April 25, 2010, 08:52:56 PM »
I wasn't really sure where to put this, but if anyone wanted to know what the Heresy stand at Salute looked like, here's a few pics I took.

Doctor Who / Re: Doctor Who
« on: April 10, 2010, 07:16:32 PM »
I enjoyed it - they're overplaying the metaplot that is Amy's crack - as I will forever refer to it, but we'll see how that develops

Amy has really weird eyes toward the end of the episode when they are both talking and she compares the Doctor to the whale...

...and Prisoner Zero gave us the first metaplot reference - the silence will fall

I loved it - I'm reserving judgement on Smith for a few episodes, because it's going to take a while for his Doctor to establish itself

 Amy is  :notworthy:

Not too sure on the retro bits of the new TARDIS, but not a bad ep all in all

Is there anything those of us not blessed with Weathering pastels can use instead?

The Colouring-in Room / Dirty Oil Drums
« on: March 28, 2010, 11:04:39 AM »
I'm working on some oil drums for a diorama - I'm working on a single one at present to get the effect right before doing the rest. There are pics below of what I have so far, but I'm not sure where to go with it next or how to achieve the finished look...any suggestions, guys? I want them looking dirty and discarded - they're sitting on the edge of a dock

Suggestions. (BS) / Kraken
« on: March 22, 2010, 09:38:05 PM »

I love the BS pirates - fantasy and human, I just think it might be cool to have a beastie for them to defend themselves against.

I know Black Cat do one, but I'd love to see Adams take on this.

I tried to find some good pictures, but got distracted by a picture of Professor Zoidberg eating a ship

I agree with pockets Thumb Up

 That's never happened before...I'm stunned!

159

I went separate noggins and guns - just enough to make them look different if in a squad, but also single piece enough to be straight forward to paint

 Loving Wesley!

Crabby is the dogs danglies...may I suggest leaving him so he could be sci fi or fantasy?

161

 Darn tootin'!

 I love them...

The sniper pic seems to be a bit small and the wo-man isn't displaying for me

 Love 'em!

Soon your bald gangers will need a reliable 'requisitions' officer...called Pockets

...he cannot currently exist in miniature format

Some say his mother was an orc!

We only know...he's called The Stig!

Could also double as The Black Stig, Krash drivers, the Ghost in the machine from Dr Who...zombie hunter....

Just as an aside - I know that there was a trilogy of Pratchett's City Watch novels released - anyone remember what the trilogy was called?

I think my Dad might enjoy the City Watch stuff

Reading Feet of Clay by Pratchett - next plan is to read The Three Musketeers to find out if any of them actually fires, or even holds, a musket?

Currently reading 'Monstrous Regiment' by Pratchett

Before that I read Tarzan: Lord of the Apes - primarily to see whether Hollywood had dressed him and overworked the story...oddly enough, at the end of the novel, I found myself preferring the Hollywood version.

Once I've finished Pratchett, I'm going to read The Three Musketeers to find out if they ever actually use a musket and then William Gibsons Neuromancer.

Train journeys to work every day are very good for reading

Libertee's Miscellaneous Musings II / Re: What's in your head?
« on: January 27, 2010, 09:44:37 PM »
My head is currently telling me two things

 1. You're doing the right thing trying to save some money each month
 2. You have money just sitting in that bank account that could be spent on metal

I just have to survive 3 more weeks and it's pay day again...

Oh..and I need something to eat, but music-wise, I always seem to have Big & Rich's Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy in there somewhere

Yeah, 54mm - what's a couple of mm between friends?

Suggestions (HF) / 56 mm skeleton
« on: January 26, 2010, 10:05:14 PM »

During one of my 'not so busy' times at work, I was looking online today - you can get 28mm skellies, you can get 40mm skellies, I'm fairly sure you can get 10mm skellies and with a bit of searching, I could probably get my hands on a 6mm skelly and a 15mm skeleton...

It would seem, however, that you can't get a 56mm skeleton.

While I've not yet painted anything at 56 mm, I'd love to see a larger scale skeleton

with all the technology Torchwood has available, you'd think they would sort the gap in Gwens teeth
