Maybe he was using a compound bow with teflon tipped arrows..........

Now that would make a good mini

Eh, they look fake. Not a fan of fakes.

But here she is from another thread here from three years ago.

Kinda freaky that a pic from the same photo set shows up years later.

I just wanted to say that I wasn't trying to gloat about my workspace, I hope nobody here thought I was.  When we moved into the house we are in now, my first priority was getting a work space established as I need it for my in/sanity.  I got lucky, as my other side wants space for her hobbies too so we tried to divide the room evenly.  This new alteration to my bench is partly because I was getting burried under my old setup and partly because she wants/needs more space.  The only way I could give her that, short of moving out into the cold crawl space was to go vertical, which opened up more space for her on what used to be my display shelves.  I've got about a quarter of the room now, maybe less, no deffinately less.

Before we were here I had staked out a corner in my appartment that was for my stuff, which was fine as I was single.  Thankfully she let me keep my corner in the appartment because it was a big appartment and she only lived there part time for the first year.

My current setup will not last forever I fear.  I can almost see the end of it actually. :(  She's talking kids, soon after the wedding.  Then I'll have no choice but to be relegated to the crawlspace, as our house is just too small for me to stake a claim elsewhere.  I don't even have a dining table large enough to work on one figure with anyone else at the table. :yup:  So I get to live it up for another year or two.

Penfold, having her home beats the pants off any alternative, even if you had to loose your potential work room to the care giver.  Given the choice if I was in your shoes, I'd take the live in care person in half a heart beat.  Hobbies can wait if they have to.

I didn't go to my ten year.  Which was only three years ago.  I didn't go because, A: Everyone I wanted to stay in touch with I have (nobody), B: It was planned via fb which I don't do, C: It was planned largely by one of the MANY people I hope to never see again  D: It was destined to be crap and have less than 10 people, which I heard later, it did.  So I figure I win having spent the time doing something that was probably productive and deff more fun.

So there really isn't a thread for this, that I could find, so I posted it here as it makes me happy.

Living in a small house has shown me that having a place for everything to be and having everything in it's place is a good thing.  I had sort of outgrown my hobby table and had run out of room for everything to be out of the way when not in use.  So, looking up at the amount of wasted wall space above my desk I decided to create a new desk that would put to good use that vertical space.

First what I was working with yesterday.  Keep in mind that it took me a few days to design the new plan, a few days to cut all the materials and another day to put it all together.
My desk, mostly stripped of everything.  You can see all my various files stuck to the light arm with magnets.

The plastic drawer units contain all my paints, basing materials, bits, and unstarted minis.  The shelves aren't particularly tall, but they did have a fair amount of space for things, in the begining.  Now onto the upgraded work station.

This is the best photo I could get as I was taking the photos with my phone.  As I was assembling the shelf unit today, I realised that I forgot to plan a shelf to cover the top drawer, so that will have to happen soonly.  I also took a pic some time ago of my spray system with the air tank that I made from an old propane bottle.  I had to clean the tank multi times to get the smell out, then sand blasted it to get the rust and old paint off.  Then primer, paint, tape, and more paint, and what was once junk is now fun recycled usefulness.  The airbrush on the left is a cheapo knock-off but works ok.  The one on the right is an Iwata Revolution CR.

Now for the task of putting it all back together.

Heresy worm-prodder/slug-botherer cultists which could be converted
Hey, I worked really hard on my cultits.

They can be converted but you have to get a little creative to make them look different from each other.

I think my gobbos will be basecoat and dip. 48 new ones plus 5 older ones seems like too much of a mission to spend hours on each mini

:lmao  You don't want to copy me in my Cult of Inevitable Decay size undertaking?!?! Why ever not?
You'll forever look at the new ones and although they look similar you'll know they weren't painted the same way! Save your sanity. Strip and start again!
This is why I wrote down all my color mixes and worked very hard to commit to memory the tecniques I used.

$10 isn't so bad, as long as it's a decent size and not a little guy.

He's smiling because you haven't found what he did yet.

What makes me happy?  I've got all the pieces cut to make a massive upgrade to my work table.  I think I'll even do a before and after photo set.

Progress is going along quite smoothly.  Nearly done now.

If anyone wants to help out at the Heresy stand, do let me know. Suspect might be rather understaffed on the day this year!

Well if someone here on the FoD wants to spot me plane tickets, I'd gladly give it a go!

Well got out bid on the Marauder one, not sure I really wanted it anyway.  I'm sort of leaning towards small figures.

Those are most certainly on the list as well.  Not a fan of the old Grenadier one though.

PS  If anyone who reads this happens to have one they think I'd be interested in, drop me a line with a photo.

So for some inexplicable reason, I have the desire to paint various cockatrice minis.  I've ordered one from Trollforged, but I would like to know of others that are available or oop, but still possibly obtainable.  I've got a bid on an old Marauder one and I like the mirliton one, but I want nothing to do with finecast, although there are two on feebay for $10 CAD each plus shipping.  Anyone got any suggestions?
