Thanks again guys. Your support really helped me stay with it, even when I felt completely overwhelmed.  I actually felt a bit lost the other day when I sat down and didn't have any cultists to paint.  Then I thought about the drawer full of lead and felt overwhelmed again :lmao.

Here is another start up from Monday.  Naomi the elementalist.  She'd been sitting in primer since before the start of the cult.  Skin, done, dress, done (I think).

Here is a quick little work I did this past Monday.  Mostly just assembly but the little black lines between panels had to be painted as did the orange lights, some other black parts, the tip of the head fin, haven't painted the baton black yet.  Lots of fun to do, and I've got three more like it waiting.

Not a mini exactly but it's quite small.

Here it is, a year and a half of work.  Quite an impressive sight all set out.

Very soon

This post marks the end of any updates to this thread until Andy releases more for the tunnel guard range, or I find something else to add to the cult.  The final squad I was going to do has been scrapped.  The closer I got to the end with this last group, the more I realized, they just didn't quite fit.  I was going to make a squad out of the daemonettes that I'd gotten ready and given arms from the plastic daemonettes box, but parts of the sculpts don't work with the maggot theme.  Mainly the feet and horns on their foreheads.  The daemonettes,  however will not be forgotten and I will be painting them the way I was going to, just with a different loin cloth color and at a bit later date.

Thank you all very much for your support and enthusiasm for my project.  It really took on a life of it's own, and I felt compelled to see it done.  I would get antsy if I had a day off and didn't put down any paint.  It still took more than a year and a half to finish.  The start of it was the Tunnel Dweller, with the first post of my progress on Oct 3 2011.  I'm holding Ink the Troll responsible, for selling him to me, which sparked this madness.  Thank you, Ink.

Now its on to other projects, which have piled up, as they're wont to do.  Thanks again to all for your support.  Watch for complete force photos in the near future.

Great job, need an army shot next.  Tbh I thought you might go for some of the dark age females...

Army shot is in the near future.  Which figures do you mean?

Well I did enjoy painting them but my enjoyment was at war with my "OMG not another squad of cultists" side.  Thanks Mr Teufel

These were the best shots I could get, most are dark.  These are the command group set and troop set of Blood Vestals from Raging Heroes.  They are quite finely detailed and slender, but measure up quite well with the rest of the guardsmen.  I believe these are made from 3d printed masters so no hand sculpting.  Having painted these up, I really prefer hand sculpted minis.  Not to talk smack about the merits of printing, just a preference.

Anyhoo, I felt that the cult really needed female members, why wouldn't there be deranged women who want to spread the word.  I've called them the Betrothed, as in Betrothed to the Worm.  These are women who have promised themselves to the cause and are quite fanatical about it.  I wish that I could say I had fun painting them, but I'm getting tired of the same color scheme all the time.  One squad left to go now, so it's almost there.  Enjoy!

btw the design on the banner was supposed to be a worm with raised mantis like arms, but they look like wings.

Couple of things tickle me today.

First, back story.  Last week, I was on my way home for lunch and I had an incedent.  I drive a small Honda scooter, the Jazz in Canada, also known as the CHF50, Metropolitan, Scoopy and Crea Scoopy.  I was nearly home, and the rear tire blew out.  Luckily I was able to get my feet out in time and get off the road.  My fiancee's aunt and uncle were walking their dog and saw/heard it happen.  So her aunt walked to meet me as I was walking home, I never noticed them until she was walking towards me.  Uncle walked home and got their van (they're also my neighbours) and we loaded the scooter into the van.  We got to my house, got the scooter out and I put it in the basement.  Then, because I was on my lunch break, they gave me their car to get back to work.  Later when I went to take the tire off, the nut that holds it on was ruined.  Then I looked at the axle shaft and it was damaged too!  Enter stress headache.  So, I ordered a new tire and tried to hope for the best.  Got the tire today, spent some time cleaning the damaged part of the axle and tried a new nut before I put the tire on.  I got it to work so I put the whole thing back together.

So, happy for: Aunt and uncle being super nice and giving me their good car to go back to work, not crashing when the tire blew out, and mostly, NOT having to tear down the transmission to fix the damaged axle.  Now I don't have to bum a ride.

PS:  I should be getting two tablet computers in the mail tomorrow. :woohoo:

Of course not, who'd want to? :silly   One day, maybe if I can win the lottery or something like that.

I wouldn't.  Maybe some waring labels or something like that.

Done!  WIPs never happened.  Pics up in the gallery after work today.  One squad left to go!

Been a bit since last post.  Haven't taken any pictures, but brass stuff is done (lots more than any other cultists).  Skin base is done and first highlight on most of them is done too.  Skin tone is blurdy murder because of the tiny details that are done in brass.  Who can figure out what this squad is?!  It's on the forum somewhere.

Hope it gets sorted straight off penfold.
