Happy Birthday!!

Thanks guys.  Been a good one so far.  Poked around the garden, got a bit bloody from a rose bush but won out in the end.  Still have to go see my grandparents and my dad, then going for mini golf and ice cream! :woohoo:

Oh yeah. Cool.
Unfortunately the company I buy all my resin through has just closed business so I can't get any more resin from them and now I need to find a new New Zealand distributor. That's a pain too because after a quick search I can't find any, I may need to contact the company to see who their nz retailers are.

Bugga!  Good luck.

She's owned by Heresy and still available.  That's where I got her a while back.

Nice but really tricky to see the face and highlighting because of the lighting set up you've got going on.

Also wish SteveB had bothered sculpting the hands properly.

I couldn't get a good angle on the face. :(

Getting back to what got me hooked on mini painting.  Girls.  Well here she is.

And because it's sort of my trademark...dark

I decided that I wanted her to be earthy tones and have small splashes of color that would really pop against their backgrounds.  I think it worked great.  Also, working with the cult, I used much more dramatic differences between layers on the skin tones than I used to.  I've tried to put that to use with her, the only difference being, you can't go too big or she ends up looking all muscle bound.  Worked really well, mostly on her leg as that's the most skin showing.  As for the rock stack, I wanted limestone for the bottom ones and the top to be rose quartz.  Under the rock stack, the little bits really made me think toadstools so I went with it.

Opinions?

She is now done.  The moss decided to proliferate.  There is more than intended but that's fine.  New pics tomorrow after work.

Good to know thanks.  I had a look and like the set.  May have to order one day.

I'll trade you something for the gal on the right if you ever do.

The dryad is the only one I'm not too fond of, maybe I'll have to get two sets to send you the other girl.  I like her too.

So it's down to her belt/sash thing and the base.  What to do with the rocks?  The one she is on should be mossy I think, but what about the others?

Yes, it is very cool.  Nicely done.  I'm wondering how they'd look black, charcoal grey and a bit of red or purple even.
