I think that I may be about finished filling.  Won't be sure until primered, but no biggie.

I've been using my tablet to access the FoD for over a year now and haven't had a problem.  Don't see why I need an app.  What effect does it have?

Everyone likes comparison pics, even blurry ones.

Wow! I wasn't aware that he is _that_ big!

He is a bit big.

:tantrum:  My jealousy, you have it.  So natural looking. :tantrum:  One day maybe I can get those results.  I need to use more washes I think.

Maybe when he is wearing primer I will start taking photos with a real camera.  Gaps to fill at the shoulders and neck yet then some filing and maybe some more fill touch ups.  Then he gets a spray bath of primer.

Unrelated to this thread I got an HF mini I have wanted for years in the mail today.  It will get its own thread when the time is right.

Something horrible just occurred to me.  I have to paint this thing soon.  :faint:

Here he is now.  Little more work done.  He is not permanently afixed to his base, nor are his arms glued, they are just on pins.  His head is assembled, just off camera.  He will be holding something in his left hand, hence the palm up.  Also makes him look link he is beckoning to something.  Still have not done any more filling yet.  Man, this guy is huge!  Really more of a megature, not a miniature.  I think my car may weigh less.

His cast base plate is glued to a 5 inch by 4 inch steel plate, so he doesn't do a nose dive.  Though he would be more likely to fall on his arse.  The pins in his hooves go through the cast base into the steel one.  Did not notice my safety specs were in the picture until now.  Do you wear them when you're drilling holes?

Spent a bit of time working on the right leg with pins.  Seeing as how that is the only foot on the ground, it should be able to hold the weight without coming apart.  I think it will work now.

Current progress.  Lots of filling with greenstuff yet to do.

Broke a drill bit off while drilling a hole for a pin.  Now there is a tip of a drill permanently lodged inside the pommel of his weapon.  Luckily I had already gotten far enough for the pin to give a good hold.

Great job, white is always a difficult task.

Thanks.  I was worried about it the whole time too.

this is really very nice - what did you use for her 'slight yellow undertone'?

The first layer/undercoat of her dress was three drops of white, one drop buckskin pale and a drop of water.  Always water to thin down everything.  I use, nearly exclusively, Reaper Master Series paints, as they are the easiest for me to obtain.

Thanks for the positivity guys.

Can't wait to see you paint him up. I also own one but haven't got round to painting him. He's a heavy so and so, isn't he?

Indeed.  Even though I am assembling the thing, I still haven't a definate color scheme yet.  Red skin is not an option, I feel that it is over done.  I have an idea for NL2, but that is not set in stone yet either.  Don't think green would be right either.  Leaning a bit towards a humanoid skin color for some reason.  Yellow might be interesting, if it is the right shade....don't know.  Need to do a bit of research on the matter, I think.  Inso commented on a color scheme based on the Cult, on the NL2 thread.  Pale skin, red furry parts, rusty steel?  Up in the air right now.  I have also been working on Azaroth at the same time.  I am feeling a bit demony and want to paint up my minor fallen one and Heresy Succubi soon too.  Too many ideas not enough brain to store them all.

As long as they aren't damaging anything.  Bird leavings can be corrosive and bring about rot and bugs.  Just pull the nest out when they are done and all should be good.

Back to the important stuff.  Looking great here.  Any big conversion plans for the Tigers' transport?

What if Star Wars had been a fantasy series?

It was!

Good pj though :-)

I meant swords and sorcery, no blasters or space craft.  But whatever.

Thanks again.  I went for a slight yellow undertone on her dress, and am amazed it showed up in the photos.  Stark white for her cloak though.  Even though it was a quick lick of paint, I am very happy with the outcome.

I just discovered that one of my power drills' chucks is small enough I can use tiny drill bits suitable for pinning miniatures.  No more hand drilling!

Netherlords require pins.  This has been the understatement of the week, brought to you by, leadhead.

What if Star Wars had been a fantasy series?

As soon as I saw this girl I thought Leia fantasy version.  She was a very quick paint up, about 3 hours maybe?  Hope I didn't ruin anyone's plans for doing their own.  Do it anyway if you were going to.

They are so heavy, I am considering drilling holes through the body section of them and pinning them to the wad of greenstuff I am going to fill the body cavity with.
