although you only get good at something through practice and risk-taking.

Troo dat! :silly

Looks good from here!  I might suggest, though, maybe lining around the leg pouches with a much darker grey (very thin lines).  They seem to get lost.  But that's just me.

Heresy - Announcements/News / Re: Elves from Andy

I saw the title and thought I saw 'Elvis from Andy'

Maybe we can get Andy to dress up like elvis! (with pic or it didn't happen :hmmm)  Then sculpt some cranky but generally good-alignment elves for his sweet goblins to fight!

:jawdrop:  Sale officially taken advantage of  Gonna have a lot more guardsmen to paint/convert.

I really need to break my addiction to online mini shopping.

To be honest I have no problems with the whole "chainmail bikini" thing as I think it makes the figures more aesthetically pleasing.

I absolutely hate naked or topless ones though as on the whole I think it just looks cheap and makes for a tacky figure.

Just my opinion, don't expect everyone to agree with it.

Paint what you enjoy painting, that's what it's about.  Unless you're getting paid to paint, then paint what pays.

Fully armored ladies: Practical = Yes, Sexy/fun to paint = No.

My two cents being, my favorite/nearly only mini subjects are all scantily/un-clad/.  It's make believe, it's NOT supposed to be realistic!  Besides, a goblin can't kill her if he can't stop oggling her :silly

It's the kryptonite bullet Superman argument again.  Who really cares.

My current P off.  Evilbay sellers who sell you something, take a month to send it, provide zero communication, then send you an email when it's finally made it to you to leave them positive feedback.  Upon opening said package the item (model) is horridly cast/deformed/cleaned, parts don't fit/don't look like they should fit.  Then they harass you to change the negative feedback that they deserve even though they haven't made offers to fix the problem.

My response, let them bake over it, then request a complete new kit.  Mean, maybe, but I certainly won't buy from that seller again.

The plan is to start AND finish the dark brethren army as well as make additions to it.  Also, the lead pile needs to be reduced in size.  I have various little dios planned that I would like to make good on, one of which being my first attempt at steampunk, one centred on HF's Liralith.

Additions have been ordered, and the lead pile grows.

Merry Christmas to all who observe, in what ever fashion is yours.  If Christmas is not for you, then I wish you safety and an enjoyable weekend in what ever it is you may be doing.  As for me I have three dinners to go to, 24th, 25th and on the 26th.  I am going to be fat, happy, tired, and fat (I'll be twice as fat as happy and tired).

Avocados give him hives too.

Poor kid, and poor you guys too.  Gotta make it nearly impossible to make most anything.  I once me a lady who was allergic to avocado.  She couldn't even touch them.  She said that she found out about her allergy when she was a teen.  She ate some not knowing, ended up in a coma for two weeks, so she said.  Apparently humans are the only animal that (for the most part) can eat an avocado.  Don't know if that is true or ballocks but there it is.

I've never heard of Dettol. Does anyone know what a U.S. equivalent would be?

The U.S equivalent would be Dettol.  Sorry not trying to be rude.  If you've never heard of it, be glad you've never had it used on your cuts and scrapes.  I would go check places like Walmart, Safeway etc for this.  It's available here in Canada so it must be in the U.S too.

Available in multi sized bottles.

Get some spike strips.

I think it is, done for CMON, right?

Can you not heat it up using a hair dryer to bend things into alignment?  Just got a GK that is going to need some SERIOUS fidgety work (if I ever get to it).

I saw the pic and (after tutting and rolling my eyes at the finger on the trigger; Blondes, hey?).
Why do you think they took the picture at that angle?  To hide the orange muzzle cap of course.  Everyone knows spray tans and hair extensions mean fake guns (both kinds) :D

Having recently ordered from Trollforged, I can say that doing business with Ed was a pleasant experience.  I don't think he keeps much stock on hand, but his casting facility seems to be on site and he is very quick to let you know if he has to cast your order, and about when it should be in the mail.  I will certainly buy from him again when I can.

Got an idea to try.

We are very happy that you've made it through and are still in business.

I remember when I first found the HF site, I don't remember how, but I do remember thinking, "Hey what's this, who are these people with these cool minis"  I waited a really long time before putting in my first order though.   Don't know why I waited so long either.

That being said, I would love to send more appreciation and love your way in the form of orders and money, but I am right sacked out of coin.  :blub:  In the mean time, I wish you guys the best of everything now and into what may come in the new year.  Merry Christmas!

Questions and Answers / Need a Base Color for a Battle Standard (or two)
« on: December 15, 2011, 03:02:22 AM »
I'm putting this out there because I cannot decide on a base color for the banners for my two Tunnel Guard standard bearers.  I've tried a sort of tanned hide scheme but wasn't happy with it.  Maybe something more pale/linen like?  Anyone have any ideas?
