Hasslefree / Re: Ferrus for the PB hassle free Hustle

I'm very much looking forward to getting onto my next hassle free mini, just too many to choose from though. Where next?

Just buy a bunch that you want to do.  Then when you go to paint one, choose randomly.

Looks airbrushed to me.  Still, well done indeed.

I am not a fan of the vehicle itself but the weathering and painting are as excellent as ever .

Could I suggest some dirt on the immaculately clean windscreen...maybe add some wipers and a sweeping effect too?

Self-cleaning glass! It is sci-fi after all!(might still do it - screens not glued as yet)

Or would it be an energy screen that vaporizes anything that tries to cross it  :whah?:

Got stuck on the standards for a while.  I couldn't find a good color, then said "Duh, keep the color of the robes going!"  Life and work and the Holidays also intervened on paint time.  So, here we go, all at once.

I couldn't get single shots of the drummers that I was happy with.  The main problem was their skin and the drum skin are too light and right together.  In the last photo, the three on the left have one skin tone, the other three have a slightly different skin tone.  I will continue each of these skin tones with their respective squads.  Although even for me they are hard to tell apart.  Next in line to be started I think, will be the first squad of troops with prods/hooks.  In all yet to be painted/assembled/converted are two squads of nine with hooks, one squad of nine with javelins, and another squad of nine which will be given close combat weapons and shields.  Part of the non-Heresy part of the army are nine of the demon worms from Trollforged.  Some of this stuff is not here yet so I hope I don't curse anything.  The other part is a secret for now.  Hmmm I see a recurring number here.  Maybe 9 is a lucky number for the Dark Brethren.  It could be made to look like a rat-tailed maggot...  Maybe I'll just up each squad to twelve one day... :whaaa:

I must say that, the first time I saw your work, I was unsure about what to think about the whole 'cell shaded' style of painting.  Now having seen what you can do with it, I think it's really cool.  It's really effective with these zombies.  The fat one is particularly icky.  I like the 'graphic novel' feel of your figures.  I hope that's what you are going for.

Have a look at the Viper - due soon http://dwartist.blogspot.com/2011/12/coming-in-2012-from.html and WIP with the next vehicle (very likely the 6x6 Rapid Assault vehicle from Secret Weapon Miniatures http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76&products_id=350)

:jawdrop:  Must not buy, must not buy, must not buy, I'm not very good with vehicles IMO.  Unless they are 'showroom floor no weathering' kinda thing.  Which I'm never happy with when finished.

Yeah, the people here are great.  Ink was kind enough to supply me with an un-needed tunnel dweller, in exchange for cash.  Haven't had to beg someone for anything else, yet.  I haven't had anything anyone else needed either, then again, I don't exactly have much extra stuff laying around to unload on the unsuspecting :paranoid2:

I have to tear apart my scooter tomorrow... :hmmm  Back brake is sticking.  I hope it's just the equalizer needing some grease.

While your work is impecable, as per your norm, I do not like a part of this model.  My issue is with the rear mud flaps.  They just don't fit.  They're too massive and just don't look feasable.  Maybe if they looked more like a rubber flap held away from the tire by a chain or bracket, the model itself wouldn't look funny to me.  I might even go so far as to shorten the front section of the front fenders too.  But enought griping about the kit.

The paint work is fantastic so far, very realistic.

That's some awesome dipped stuff.  None of the heads look out of place (to me) either, part of the brilliance of sci-fi.

My cat makes me happy.  She hates almost everyone.  She growls at the door when people are coming up the stairs.  Makes me giggle every time.

One of GW's new products, posted on Warseer.

Won't work.  Not unless the label's printed in orc, maybe not even then.  Just because they can read it doesn't mean they'll use it.

Having worked in a grocery store for a few years, I had decided that there were really only two holidays at the time.  I named them, Hallowistmas and Eastertines Day.  Now they're blending together...Hal-istmas-ster-lentines!  A Hallmark holiday, brought to you by Cadbury.

Never played Skyrim, never will either, probably a great game though.  I probably would be addicted to it, and that's not a good thing, what having a job/house to pay for and all.  Nevermind a lead toy addiction to feed.

I'm still running around exploring, too bad about the plot!
I did that with Morrowind.  I think I was running around adventuring and leveling up for something like 5 months.  Then one day, I said, hey WTF is the plot in this game anyway.  Even though I was having a hoot mucking about.  Took me a while to figure out who to go talk to to get the plot going again.

Pants crappingly awesome.  I keep looking and keep having to tell myself that that is a miniature base and I am not actually looking at a section of real live deck plating.

Questions and Answers / Re: Green stuff , filler etc
« on: December 31, 2011, 01:45:48 AM »
I'd fill it with what ever filler you prefer.  Don't try and smooth it down right away.  Fill it so that it is over full, but not overly so, with all the edges just covered.  Let it cure, then use a file and reshape it.  That's what I'd do, but I seem to have a knack for filing.
