Tutorials / Re: Stripping with Dettol (and Katy Perry)

Just a tip I use to remove any lingering paint after the bath - is to coat the figure in a couple of layers of pva glue and let dry completely and then pull off with a pin - usually takes any remaining paint with it and pulls it out of cracks and crevasses !
Can be a bit time consuming waiting for the pva to dry - radiators normally speed the process up !

 Brilliant idea!  Might have to try that next time.

Waiting impatiently to see this unfold.

Behemoth Boris?

Didn't notice a problem with a Canadian address last time I ordered.

I can tell that it's two greys and a green.  Sounds like an alien conspiracy. :lmao

I'm keen to see some more.

Wide brimmed hats and snow flakes are a real danger, you shouldn't make light of the situation.

Spent most of today (Sunday), working on the first squad of nine troops.  Managed to get the robes fully painted.  Now I have to find the time to take a pic or two.  Otherwise you lot will say 'no pics so it didn't happen'

I'll have to paint her up to look like my Alicia.  They've both got the same attitude, build and hair.

I've only known a couple people who have had to have that operation.  They took weeks if not a couple months to regain full use of thier hands.  However, they didn't heal very fast because they didn't listen to thier doctors advice and take it easy.

Welcome back to the FoD and mini painting.  Take it easy, maybe take time to research tecniques that you had an interest in.  Above all listen to what the doctor says, they are after all supposed to know what they are talking about.

Lots of new stuff from the companies here and some changes particularly between Heresy and Spyglass/Eolith.

Ideas for New Heresy Models / High Priest
« on: January 20, 2012, 06:33:58 AM »
I don't know if this has already been suggested but how about a High Priest to lead the cult forces.  I know the Tunnel Dweller is the top of the chain of crazy, but there has to be someone who has either placed himself next in line or has been put there so to speak.  Besides don't they worship the slug from afar anyway?  He could be in the same robes, more dynamic pose, maybe with a mutation or two.  Maybe he isn't a high priest maybe he is a mad preacher going around bringing in new converts.  Cults have to get new members somewhere don't they?  I was thinking about converting the necromancer into a preacher type, but feel free to sculpt one that I can throw money at you for.

Just a thought.

Suggestions (HF) / Survivor kid

Post-apoc survivor late teen early twenties kid/hooligan similar in pose to dynamic Ray, but instead of a cricket bat, swinging a skateboard.  Wearing a deep-dish skater style baseball cap with a backback on, with a baseball bat and a crowbar poking out.

Sorry if it's out of line, but it came to me today while watching an episode of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory...

I'll go over this way now...

So, how many painted minis are you up to for 2012 so far?  Your sig says you painted 120 for 2011.  Are you going to keep a running tally again this year?  I've finished four!  But they were started in 2011.

Having followed this thread, I must say that these dips do seem like a great way to get a load of minis painted.  Especially if you are trying to beat a deadline, like for an 'only painted minis' tournament.  I don't have any experience with dips, but it's really cool to see what kind of results you can get with them.  I look forward to seeing these savages finished, or even just farther along.  Hurry up, get more stuff done.  :silly

Maybe I'll even post some wip pics of my own.  Like the squad of brethren I got started the other day.  Robe base color is done.  Now for at least 7 more coats of paint on the robes alone.
