Thanks, I'm quite proud of them.

That would truely have been magic to behold.  I doubt I would have been able to contain my laughter.

Yeah, it'd be a shame if their mirror happened to occupy the space that a large stick needed to whizz through at speeds approaching the sound barrier.

Well no pictures as of yet but, I have decided to complete the 'monumental' task of assembling and converting the rest of the squads before painting the next one.  Part of the reason for this is that I am making a reserve tank for my air compressor, which I use to spray on my testor's white primer.  Converting the compressor to work with a tank has made it a pain in the butt to convert back to directly connect an airbrush.  I may even do a 'how to/this is what I did' for the air tank.

Back on track.  The second straight out of the box squad is fully assembled and put on bases.  The squad with double handed flails is 5/9 completed with four waiting for weapons.  I only had four of the flails that I wanted the whole squad to use so I have to wait for the rest to come in.  The fifth is the champion with a slightly absurdly sized flail, but a hero needs to stand out a bit.  I just started on the squad with single hand close combat weapons and shields.  I'm thinking of calling them Helmsplitters or Skull Spikers (or something) due to the weapons I've come up with.  I have two done, except for attaching the shields.  Need to make a suitable weapon to make the hero stand out.  Will get pics when I can.

Time for a bit of levity.  This doesn't make me happy so much as smile and shake my head.  People who cannot park their vehicle within the painted lines, regardless of how small said vehicle is.  I can understand large trucks to a point, but if you own a large truck you try and find a good parking spot, not just where ever.  You usually find these people at grocery stores.  My spouse and I call them Scribblers, because these were likely the kids who could never color in the lines, they just took a brown crayon and messed the whole page.  Most of these people aren't even just parked on the line but more than a foot outside or not even in the space at all. :scratchhead:  Just shake your head and walk away, hoping they don't park on you.

Hopefully no one here is a Scribbler

It's broken again.

... probably won't have the opportunity to play with toy soldiers again...

That's rather sad.   :(

It is really.  Growing up sucks.  For me, today was 30 in 30 day.  As of March 1st, 2012 it is officially 30 days until I turn 30.  But, no plans to grow up, except that there never really is a plan you just come to Brandlin's realisation one day.

I was thinking of trying to get a really close up of a gauntlet or two, as I feel that they are the most real looking part on them.  Thanks for the positivity guys.  Everyone has thier own style of painting they develop, I go for realism in unrealistic things :D

Took quite a while to get these finished.  It seemed like the closer I got to being done, the less time I had to work on them.  They all have the same skin tone as the command group that leads them for simplicity's sake.  I'm very happy with the result.  I feel like I am getting better and that these are some of my best work.  Hope you like them, stay tuned for more.

Announcements and News / Re: NEW DWARVES for FEB/MARCH 2012

8 bodies
8 weapons
4 shields

That's 256 combinations, at 3.25 each that's 832

Sally.. How much credit do I have left? Hmmm....

Anyway best dwarves ever! Even nicer than my beloved grenadier dwarfs, and I have 600+ of them....

You are hardcore, dude.

Getting frustratingly close now.  All that is left are the staves and three guys have some little glass vials to paint.  And so little time to play.

Feb 28, finished squad except for a bit of work left to do on the bases.  Look for pics soon.

Part of me wants to feel sorry for the people that fall for these, because there are some genuinely nice people who are completely illiterate when it comes to situations like these.  There is another part of me that wants to reach through the phone/email, grab the person on the other end, pull their face back through and smash it on a desk.  They do get frustrating.  Now, I just delete emails and hang up the phone.

I get those "Paypal" emails too.  On an email address not linked with paypal in anyway.

It's as everyone says, total scam.  Various people have been trying it in Canada for the better part of a year.  I got the call once.  I told them where to go and what to do when they got there.

The Colouring-in Room / Re: Resin walls and floor by Beefcake :)

Looks great beefy.  I like the trashed look of the floor.  It would work great for a derelict or old spacecraft/building, it adds character.  You could also say that it is just worn out traction material for a wet area floor or even worn out antifatigue matting.  I'd be damn proud if my first attempt at casting was even half that good.

Skin and leather leggings are done now.  Just have weapon staves and some little detail bits to do.

So here are some more shots.  I haven't had the time I would have liked to spend on these guys lately.  Skin is almost done, two layers left.  As stated in a previous post, rusty steel parts are done.  I'm really happy with the way the gauntlets look, all rusty in places.
