Suggestions (HF) / If You Are Going to Suggest...
« on: July 31, 2012, 05:16:17 AM »
If you are going to suggest a chainsaw weilding cheerleader, why not go right over and have a zombie apocalypse, arse kicking raver girl.  Zombie Apocalypse: Anytime, anywhere, no warning; it could happen to you.

Complete with fuzzy boots, crazy hair, tiny outfit, and a 'Goodbye Kitty' flame thrower kit.  And because raves aren't wholly a chick event. A raver dude, kitted with something rave-ish and/or cool.  Maybe a big glow hammer?

Or zombie ravers, for the reasons stated above.

Hey, if it means we get a more in depth, complete story, DO IT.  We don't want some rushed bit of flotsam that gets lost in the bargain bin dvd section at Wal Mart.  The story is worth being over six hours long, and it's not like it isn't going to make anything at the box office as long as the time is taken to really make it shine.  The extra expense will be devoured by the profits from it.

It boggles my mind, how you can do so much with gs.  I can't get a smooth even surface to save my life.

So, any new pics soon?

Don't worry.

The WIP proves you are using the armature.

My sculpt covers everything but the face...

Good point, that had slipped my mind.

I need to just keep my nose out of it.  Who am I really, to say anything about a sculpting competition.  I have enough trouble filling in the bases and gaps of the minis I paint.

Please accept my apology for citing rules I know nothing about.  I shall refrain from further comments related to such things.  I am still going to comment on things I like though.

I had hoped she wad going to be a fighter of some kind.  I'm still interested to see her progress though.

Looks great but, don't chop too much as I believe the armature used must be recognizable in the finished piece.  I'm no judge or even a participant, so someone with some authority may want to chip in.

Still, I am interested to see where this goes.

Love the depth of color in the robes.  Always wanted to play a Conanish rpg setting.  Sadly my gaming group was only ever interested in classic dnd.

My old one died this week (well, it was more of an assisted suicide) and after a brief period of mourning :band:  I now have a nice new shiny one, so a new tutorial would be handy about now.  :notworthy:

What did you have and what did you get?

I've got a paasche vl, an iwata revolution cr, and a cheap iwata eclipse cs knockoff

:tears:  I have to give summer bonus time a miss. :blub:  I'm broke, going on holidays next week anyway, then some serious remodeling of the yard and such things to make me more broke.  Maybe Christmas bonus time may work for me, there's hope anyhow.

Hopefully there were more than enough sales to fund the mould tin.  I got some more slugs, but they haven't arrived yet.  Hoping they get here before I go away on vacation.

It is...that's about 12" to the top of the roof and about 9" internally. Even your arms should fit, Ben

I wouldn't go past the elbow.  It's a personal rule.

Your bingo wing might get stuck too Ben...

And here I thought that you were complimenting him on his Arnie in Conan physique.  What do I know.  I'll take my benefit-of-the-doubt-positivity elsewhere.

I would (if I was any good at jungleyness) turn that building into a greenhouse of horror, or just a cool little conservatory dio with some little minis doing gardeny research stuff inside.  Maybe with a genetically enhanced specimin or two.  Ok someone with some talent/skill needs to make that happen now.

Oxymoron/double negative/not possible
Their cunning plan appears to be to send all the people who want to get into the railway station down one strip of narrow pavement next to a busy road, while simultaneously sending all the people who want to get into the tube station to go in the opposite direction along the same strip of narrow pavement.

From the other side of the road and knowing I'll be going away from the chaos, it's hilarious.

Put that way, it would be.

Little pictureless update.  Have managed to convert some more of the squad, I only have two left actually.  The champ is done.  Instead of two javelins, I repositioned the right arm slightly to be different than the other two guys of that body type.  In his left hand he is now holding a sword.  I even gave him the sword from a tunnel priest that I hadn't used yet.  I still haven't decided on the shield or no shield option.  I was wondering if it would look stupid attached to his right arm.  I've seen other minis holding a weapon and shield in one hand, and didn't think it odd looking.  Off to see if I can get another guy done before dinner (or both).

Well it was not until after dinner, but the squad is ready for the next step.  Base filling, a bit of gs here and there, then primering.

Oxymoron/double negative/not possible

My daughter took her first few steps a couple of days ago.  :woohoo:
Awesome, beefcake.

A co worker of mine's son began walking last year.  He started with the usual steps while hanging from someone, did that for a long while.  Then one day he was apparently sitting on the floor, and just stood up and walked away all stable like.  The next day, according to his father, he stood up, walked to the table, picked up his bottle, stuffed it in his mouth and walked away drinking the whole time.  That's more that some adults can do.  Kids

Welcome to lead candy lane.  Besides cool minis, HF and Heresy give out free sweeties with every order, what more could you possibly need.  Little toys and the fuel to paint them.

You must be in the US because netflix Canada doesn't have the whole series yet.  It only goes up to the end of season five.  No six or seven yet.  Welcome along on our lead fueled voyage.

A mini Bubbles would be cool.  With a tiny kitty beside him.

CMON Shop Update: Hasslefree Madness!

It has been a while since the last time we did a restock, but here we have 28 new releases from Hasslefree miniatures plus a full restock!
Sana, female barbarian in bear-skin cloak with axe

Alicia, female with short-sword

Ferrus, gnarled barbarian warrior

Hayden, troll-slaying female with mohican and axe

Felicity (c), teenage female with baseball bat

Tons of different miniatures to choose from, sculpted by Kev White, one of the best sculptors around!
About time they recognised the fact. This was taken directly from the CMON front page.  I'll still only buy my HF minis direct though.

Glad to have inspired you to be brave and convert minis, especially since I'm not the bravest person when it comes to things like that.  Although I am getting a bit more bold.  I got a couple more javeliners converted today.

So, are all these minis ones you had before I posted some of my conversions?  Or did you get them after, and I need to talk to Andy about commission?     just kidding.  Although, it would be cool if some of my tinkering has helped boost sales.

Back on topic, what other things have you got planned?  My next conversion involves Andy's necromancer,  who should get to me next week with a boatload of other guardsmen.

I'm going to take your copycatness as flattery   I thought about using those swords but didn't have enough, and they felt too long for me.  On the other hand those sheilds really work well with the tunnel guard.  And because they're pretty much a tower shield you can get pretty dynamic poses with just a little tilt to it.

Looks like someone's giving me a run for my money on guardsmen collecting.  I have eight more guys (two command packs, three priests) and one of Andy's necromancers on the way, oh yeah, twelve more maggots too.  I guess that makes 20 figs. muahahahaha  That means I'll have over 80 dark brethren related models, not counting the necro, who is destined for conversion.

Looking forward to seeing pics with paint.
