General Ranting / Re: What was lost has now returned...

I have two cats, one sitting on me as I type.  She is too mean and stupid to go outside, besides, she gets cold easy.  The other one is also not allowed outside because there are already enough cats in the 'hood and there are enough cougars/pumas/mountain lion (whatever you want to call it) in the area to make them not come back.  When I was a kid one of our cats disappeared for longer than normal and we were getting worried.  On his way home from work the next day or the day after, my dad looked up at the big window in the rugby club house we lived next to.  There she was meowing at anyone who went by begging to be let out.  Then we had to go inside and catch her as she wouldn't come out on her own.  It was a big relief to have her back safe.

Good to hear he's safe.

Not that it's any help but I think maybe he was a prototype for the one that was released as Zenith.

Well, if you end up with too much technology I'll gladly give some a new home.

Dragon sorry to hear that. I'm in the process of changing GP's. Thing's that piss you off my camera that I sent off to get fixed came back and today I tried to charge it only to have the battery blow up on me. I don't know when I'll be able to get it fixed or replaced.

Can't go after the repair place for a replacement?  They were the last place to touch it.  I'd think unless they can prove that they did not have any contact with the battery in any way, they'd be on the hook for replacement.

:hmmm  Not having any luck taking pictures.  Not getting anything I am happy with. :tantrum:  I'll try again later.

Done.  In keeping with traditional colors, the preacher's book is the same color as the tunnel dweller's torso.  Pics tomorrow after hunting expedition.

Nearly done now.  Waiting for paint to dry.  Standard guys are done except for emblems, priests have one more coat of paint drummers need two then bases.

Forgot.  Still need to do the preacher's book and hair.

I couldn't resist any longer.  I had to have one.  So I've given in and orderd Azaroth.  I guess I'll just have to enjoy it :boing:

Doesn't matter if you are allowed or not if you have a -30 modifier like me.

Didn't get much time today but I did get enough to start the brass bits and get all but the last coat of paint done for that.

Deano....after Mr R D Anderson?

Couldn't be.  No resemblance or inspiration for such a mini. :P

Regarding the book, I'd avoid red.

Thanks, I was leaning toward a greenish/rotting skin for the cover.

I have gotten some more done on them.  Leathers are done as well as the skulls and skells on the priest's staves.  I think the next step is to do the brass bits as there are quite a few here and there.  Then it's just a few little bits left before bases.  Also need some new designs for the banners.

So now that I have insulated my floor, my face is on fire because of the fibreglass.  Yes I was wearing goggles.  In the beginning I was wearing goggles, a face mask and fibreglass-proof coveralls.  The face mask didn't work well as I couldn't breathe well through it and it made my goggles fog up.  I tried another one but it was worse.  So by the end I was only wearing the goggles and coveralls part of my hazmat suit.  I'm gonna sleep well tonite and probably be hugely sore tomorrow.

Today I put up fibreglass insulation in my basement.  Now my entire floor is insulated, so, hopefully I will have muchly reduced heating bills this winter.  I officially hate fibreglass with a just cause.  I used to just hate it on speculation.

Two hours later and the leather parts are done now too. :boing:

Now I have all of the skin tones done for both commands and the preacher so I took some photos.  Here they are if you're interested.  Oh yeah, I don't know if I mentioned it or not but one of the commands is for the pick troops the other is for the flail guys.

Trademark dark photo!

Wish I knew why it does that and how to do it when I want.  Oh well, usually get atleast one per shoot.

What color should the preacher's book be?  Should it be red like the robes or...?

One would hope not.

Going along rather well lately.  Got the skin started and finished on one of the command groups this evening.  Next is the skin on the other three then back to the colors they all share like leathers and brass.

Another update today.     Never have I been this fast.  Preacher only, but his skin is finished.  I went for something different than the rest of the cultists and base coated him with purple mixed into the flesh tone.  I like it, I wanted it to be sort of 'off'.  Pictures came out better than I expected.  Pardon the crotch shot on pic two, sorry.

Dark and tunnelly coolness

So simple but looks so cool.  Thanks!

Here are some shots of the two command groups in the works.  Robes and steel parts are done at this point.  Also the first pics of the Dark Preacher.

So there we go.  The preacher is Andy's Necromancer obviously.  His pointing hand is from one of the priests in the background, as they both got swords.  The book, key and skull on a rope are from the box set of GW flagellants.  The necro is a very charismatic figure, and the pose lends itself quite well to what I wanted.  I'm very happy with him and really looking forward to having him finished.  I used the key on a chain because the priests all have a key on their belts, and I felt it fit as a talisman for 'unlocking' (if you will) potential cultist's desire to spread death and decay.  Considering most of the other cultists have a skull on them, why not him too.  Another powerful talisman never hurt, right?

I discovered something that could be rather irksome.  I have come to the realization that I can possibly totally skip two different layers when painting the robes, without affecting the overall look.  This notion didn't come to me until after I had done both the questionable layers on the group I am currently working on. :tantrum:  The most agravating part about it is I only have one squad of guardsmen left yet to see paint.  I think before I make any rash decisions, I need to line up every painted guardsman and look at their robes as I think they've evolved a bit since the first priest.

PS all the steel parts of them are done.  I do those first, after lining.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?  I logged in just now and the counter at the bottom of the index page said 20 guests.  So I clicked on the counter out of curiosity because it tells you who's reading what thread, and there were 7 guests viewing one particular profile.  I've noticed this a couple times before and thought it sort of odd.  Are we being stalked? :paranoid:   I find it confusing.  Should I maybe just ignore it because its of no consequence?

Up to 9 now.  I'm going to bed now.
