Awesome.  I love the look of all the figs you've created, but this little guy might well be my first fig.  I really dig the lantern.

General chatter! / Re: Pirate names needed!

Here's a few names from the 7th Sea campaign my friends and I have been playing for about 10 years now.  All are player-generated, no copyright issues...

Remy d'Argent
Vargas Aldana
Simon MacGregor
Ladislo Renzo de Fontaine
Thierry du Paix
Kananga

...it would definitely be a pleasure to see them in print.

Non-FOD minis / Re: Completed my MERCs CCC Squad
« on: February 01, 2011, 05:40:31 PM »
Nice stuff.  I was very excited when I first saw these minis, but the lack of multiple poses for the one "standard" trooper led me to buy Heresy's Sci-Fi Troopers for the purpose instead.

Although it's entirely off topic, I really don't like the hairy look of that lantern

Suggestions (HF) / Re: Baroque Powered Armour
« on: February 01, 2011, 02:31:15 AM »
But until some FoD company decides to take a peak at powered armours, Reaper does three that I think are inspired by Fallout (Nick Stone, Reggie van Zandt & Torch McHugh).

Those are based on the Gears of War games, not Fallout.

And don't forget the Nosferatu Pimp  ... Black Dynamite needs someone to fight. M

Wasn't he called Blacula?

He absolutely was, in about three movies.

It's been about a decade of major crossovers at Marvel, but after the last (Seige) it seems to be calming down. :)

Yes, but you can actually read the crossovers themselves, which connect to make quite a nice story.

Am I crazy to think that the solution lies in the easily available white shirts + yellow dye?

Yes

......or buy a load in white and dye them yellow and then spend the entire life of the shirt separating it from everything else in my laundry basket top stop it coloruring everything yellow....

So much for lateral thinking.

I looked at these pics earlier on my mobile, and they failed to do proper justice to the blue stripes on the cat.

Very well done.

Ultimate Spider-Man may be for you then.  Over 150 issues, and I don't think any of the crossovers (which are extremely few) are required reading.

I would argue that both Ultimate Six and Ultimatum are pretty required.

Movies/TV/Music Zone / Re: Next Batman villains
« on: January 25, 2011, 04:10:31 AM »

 I never thought anyone would consider the first film to be a bad one.

The mass transit system hub follows the water system, which both share a hub in the Wayne Building?  And it just so happens Wayne Enterprises invented a machine that evaporates water?  That manages to evaporate water in pipes, but not in the atmospheric puddles on the gloomy city streets?

And "I don't have to save you"?  Yes you do.  You're Batman.  Batman would save him.  Not to mention that cutting a train in half and "letting" him fall out the back is... you know.  Killing him.

And that's just the surface stuff.

Yeah.  Ugh.

Although I'm inclined to give the director and writers the benefit of the doubt after the first two films.

I'm not.  The second film is brilliant, but a lot of that is down to the excellent depiction of the Joker.  While that isn't all because of Ledger, either way we're not seeing that again.

The first film was awful.  Just awful.

And Bane has no use outside of Knightfall.

My prediction:  Nolan's Batman franchise is about to go the way of Raimi's Spider-Man.  It's the same pattern- kinda lousy first film, excellent sequel, third.movie that overreaches and tries to use a villains whose stories are too complex to cram into one film.

Eye Candy / Re: Luke in Powered Suit
« on: January 21, 2011, 04:10:23 PM »
I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one as it progresses.  Does this mean his dog-companion will also have a powered suit?  Or does he get a powered suit instead of an anthropomorphic dog soldier?

I have been looking forward to Hamlet!

Me as well.  I've been eying the Whole Gang for a while now, but seeing Hamlet on the workbench has kept me holding out for a package deal after his release.  It's really the only way I can justify the expense...

Having a budget sucks.  Sometimes I miss my soulless job.

The Computer Zone / Re: Blood bowl

I bought the XBox 360 version of the game, very much looking forward to playing all the teams I don't own/probably wouldn't ever buy (Halflings, Ogres, etc) as they were supposed to be released as DLCs.

Apparently in the process of making the Legendary Edition they decided it was impossible to do the DLCs for the XBox (probably something to do with the XBox/Original being LRB5 and the LE being LRB6/Competition Rules), leaving me extremely disappointed.

But from what my PC-version playing friends tell me, you absolutely can upgrade the regular edition to the LE over the net.  And relatively inexpensively.

This is all I can think of every time I see the thread title.  Nice work!  I know nothing about the source material but the fig is imposing.

I wish there was a punchy, one-line way to explain what's pissing me off at the moment, but it boils down to my client wanting to change the entire ending of a piece that we settled on a week or more ago.

This might sound like a trivial thing, but it's all timed out to music and it's going to be a huge pain in my b... neck.  Pain in my neck, I was going to say.

Fortunately, she's offline until Wednesday, so I can stew over it on my own for a day or so.

So what did everyone think of the christmas special ?

I think the writers were doing much better drugs than japanese game designers.  And that's saying something.  When they were zipping about in a carriage drawn by a flying shark I half expected to see Mario go flying by with his helicopter raccoon tail.

Re the flesh; did do it a bit paler than usual to reflect (no pun intended) his nature which has led to nightmares trying to photograph..... if the flesh is right exposure the blacks disappear and vice versa.

Photoshop can be your friend.  It's not cheating if you change things to reflect what the eye can see but the camera lens can't capture.
