Libertee's Miscellaneous Musings II / Re: Things that make you happy
« on: April 16, 2013, 08:29:43 AM »
I was in Hamley's on Wednesday and even though there is a lot there, I didn't really like the attention that the staff were dishing out or the 25% mark-up on everything.

I went all the way to the top floor because I knew there was a coffee shop there... and it had been replaced by a sweet shop!

But I did enjoy the day :)

I did find several bargains in the Hornby and Scalextrix (sp?) ranges, but unfortunately I wasn't there for me.  We did buy Mouse Trap and played that together on Sunday evening.  Its a bit different than I remember as a kid, but its still a fun game to play!

Took the kids to London this weekend and spent the morning at the Science Museum and in the afternoon took them to Hamleys and let them buy stuff :)

She looks good to me :)  Nice solid job leadhead and a lovely colour to her dress. Very effective.

I don't know if it is the lighting, but I'd be tempted to add a but more dark pink and mottle to the rose quartz - it looks rather highly polished, even for a river-smoothed stone.

<Threadomancy>

Now this base makes sense!  It didn't make much sense to me when I received the loyalty card in the post and it was accompanied by this awesome 120mm base Now I understand!

That'll teach me for being out of the loop for so long !  :D

Today I acquired a bike for no cost (quite legally as well!) so now I can keep up with the kids as they learn to ride their own bikes! :)

Sally (or anyone else). I was fortunate enough to receive a bottle of vodka as a gift from a Polish Subcontractor recently.  My question is - do I dare drink any of it?!

Hey, Keeper, what Codex will you be using for the Grymn?

I was thinking Codex: SM as a force list for my Grymn.  Not got very far with it at the moment, though, as I predicted correctly and ended up building railway stuff for the kids new OO Thomas and friends to play on :)

Was thinking of ordering some of the Old Crow 28mm grav tanks as vehicles for the Grymn.  I'd be interested to know what you think of those vehicles, Inso?

General Ranting / Re: What did you paint in 2010?
« on: January 03, 2011, 10:51:38 PM »
Short Answer: Not Enough.

Long Answer: In 2010 I finished painted the following figures and I'm quite ashamed there is only one FOD mini in this lot :oops:

54mm
* Klingon (MMII)

28mm
* Tony (b) (HF)
* 14x 1938 Policemen for VBCW (Artizan)
* Rick (Artizan)
* 9x Nazi Zombies (West Wind)
* Brutal Gladiator (Dark Art Miniatures)
* 5x Colonial British (Wargames Factory)
* 19x WWII Russians (Plastic Soldier Company)
* Sablesinge (Miniature Heroes)

15mm
12x Cowboys (Peter Pig)

6mm
* 1x World's Smallest Wargame (Baccus6mm)

Other
* Various bits of plaster scenic items for RPG from Hirst Arts molds.

Of course, I half-started about twice this number which aren't finished yet, which is my usual trick! :roll:

I'm planning on trying to finish off entries for a couple of painting competitions, get all of my Brutal Minis painted up and a 3D board started for that game and then to plan and start on a Grymn army for 40k.

All this is assuming I don't get distracted by some really neat Christmas present, or by my plan to build a OO railway in the garden next year! ;)

I agree with everything that Inso said, except for one thing ...

YES, you can buy historicals etc for £1-00 a piece but they are 10-a-penny...
