Two very nice paint jobs :)  Personally I prefer the paladin, but they're both really nice, rougetrada!

If you like them, there is nothing to take apart :)

maybe a scifi version of animals in space armor. The Beaver in Narnia, closing battle scene was just awesome...perhaps a scifi version of him would be pretty cool.

And the Judoon from Dr Who?  Not sure about that ... but then again, why not? :)

Very true mate, getting your paint to the correct consistency and being patient are the biggest challenges IMO.

I was reluctant to mention it but if you want some detailed feedback you'll need to ask....

OK, I'll ask :) I'd be happy to hear any feedback you have, and I'll try and remember to ask explicitly on future posts.

And I promise not to take it personally ... ;)

Do you have a pic from another angle?
Sure - pics from other angles can be seen in my Demons folder on Cheddarmongers:
Keeper40k's Demons

Nice color; evil, yet alluring!
Thanks :)  That was exactly the effect I wanted with her!

I like the foliage you used around the altar. What type did you use?

I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago...
The flock around the base is Hornby's R8038 Moor Heather Scatter.
I painted the non-stone parts of the base GW Bestial Brown, then used thinned white glue to stick this scatter in place.  It is a pre-mixed scatter sold in bags, mostly in model railway shops, as Hornby is a model railway company (as all the UK people already know) - I didn't modify or mix the scatter in any way before using it.

I like your colour choices but the skin looks a little uneven in the pic, you might want to do a few thinner coats of your base colour, I think she could do with a few more highlights too.

You've spotted what I think is my biggest weakness at the moment - I paint with paint that is too thick! :)  Still working on it, but I've only been getting results even this good on skin for a few months (a dozen-or-so minis at this scale)

I tried more highlights on her at first, but she just became too chalky and she lost the evil, yet alluring effect I wanted.  The effect on the miniature, however, is not as blotchy as it looks in the photo, as the photo is about 2.5 times larger than she really is.  She looks more like this ...

I'll just have to keep painting more to get better!! :D

Its not good for us on this side who are addicted to lead made over there.

You have my sympathies.  But try and think of it as me supporting your domestic industries, as I exercise my sympathetic self-interest, which Adam Smith discussed in An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations :)

I think it looks really, really good :)  I know several people with pale complexions like this, but you don't often see it on a mini :-)

Top marks for the skin!  :applause:

Been buying about 1/3 of my new minis from the US for about six months now.  Even taking into account currency conversion costs and postage, it is definately cheap for me right now to pick up stuff from US manufacturers who sell directly.  :boing: :D

We must stand united against the EEnemy

Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small one-man outfit to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the paint station.

I really like them both, but the Axe Dwarf just appeals to me much more than the Sun Dwarf does.

Axe Dwarf gets my vote.

Good stuff!  Nice skin tone and good work on the horns and the stone.

For the stone I've got to give Mr White the credit  - just two different Tamiya greys, a dark for the base colour and a light one for the drybrushing, but I can't remember specifically which ones, sorry.

What did you use to go around the altar? It looks good.

The flock around the base is Hornby's R8038 Moor Heather Scatter.  Sorry I can't be more specific :D

...and the nipples.

I am pleased you like my nipples, however, you should know tht I am a happily married man.

Oh, you mean, her nipples, don't you ... ;)

My humble attempt at Gen on her altar ...

There are some more shots here, although the folder also contains a Celtos Siren, but that isn't a Hasslefree mini, is it? :)

Very, very close.  They're both so great!  Top marks to both painters  :D

However, I have made a decision and voted for only one Boris...

If you can product results like this, and more importantly you enjoy using your paints, I don't see whether it matters what media you're using!

Keep it up! :D

Abnd Chtulhu's green, dammit!    :P

I thought that at first.  But them I realised that I didn't know if I'd passed my sanity test, or not, which means I think it should be green, but who knows? :)

she isnt due to be mastered for about 3 weeks so into production in about 7 weeks minimum.  i have only just coded her so havent assigned a release date yet, i want to see what is going on with the next batch on greens for white metal and combine a master mould

Sounds good.  I didn't want to get too excited before she is ready :D

Must stay calm ... don't need cheerleaders yet ...

OK.  Now The Keeper is happy  :boing:

Thanks Sally.

Next question is ... what is the time frame before we can send you money for these, er this :) Since we know that there is always a production lead time ... :)

Actually, it has been mostly Abba, for some reason with Ranger-boy.  "Chicken-tikka, you and I know ..."; "Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen ..."  that sort of thing.

Almost finished him.  Now I've got my camera working rather better, I'll get some pics up in a thread of its own on the Custom Hobby board and maybe in the Colouring In Room as  well :)

Back to the topic in hand, though, I think I'm going to have to find my Norko after the Ranger.  Its lurking somehere in the mountain, primed and waiting ...

And Van Halfling, as I watched half of Van Helsing last night ...

Dammit, why do I have to work?

Arrrgh!!

X

But then again, I cannot get to the Hasslefree website, either at the moment.  Anyone else got a problem*, or is it just me?

*Specifically this problem, not problems in general!

Great Norko, BTW.  Just needs the edge of his base touching up with your preferred colour ...
the base wasn't finished when i took the pic, and still isn't done

Many apologies - you said that in your first post, but I completely missed it! Ten thousand apologies!  :notworthy:

must do bases faster, must stop singing songs from grease while painting.......i think it's best if i shut up now

*goes to do bases*

Gald to hear someone else sings whilst painting, too.  Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden usually for me  but each to his own :)

Although, come to think of it, I keep finding myself singing songs I didn't know I knew whilst I've been painting the Ranger I acquired from Fabian ... you didn't do anything to it before you sent it, did you?

Pic please. Pic please. Pic please. Pic please ... please? :)

Would you be so kind as to furnish us with an image of this cheerleading masterpiece? ... please? :)

Did I say please? :D
