Heresy / Re: Better Late Than Never!

The only thing I don't really care for is the green hair on the female figure, but the rest are good.

I certainly can't say I disagree with you, Wildheart  :yup:

But I'd been watching quite a few episodes of UFO in the days up to painting her hair - and what with all the girsl on the moonbase having purple hair, I was kinda inspired - although maybe inspired is the wrong word.  At least I chose a complimentary colour to the red unifroms! :D

Anyone else ever get inspired like this by TV or films?

April              International Napoleonic Fair           (St Albans)

Really? Hmm. Not sure any traders will be selling any dwarfage...

Unless AA are going there, but I'm pretty sure they're not ...

Suggestions (HF) / Re: why not aboriginal grymns
« on: January 21, 2008, 11:27:36 AM »
In the same way that some grymns support and works with technology, why no some grymns that don't accept technology, but fight with their brothers.

Some aboriginal like grymns could be a good idea.

Oskar

If you really want to go with the idea yourself Oskar - buy some of Kev's Dwarves and do some converting :)  If you search through the forum, Inso has done some great pieces of work converting Grymn that you might find inspirational.

Is it me, or does he look like Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town?  :scratchhead:

Yes, he does  :yup:  But that doesn't diminish what you've done with this paintjob!! Great work, wildheart!

Thanks for sharing! :D

The Colouring-in Room / Re: painting armour, help please.
« on: January 18, 2008, 04:52:29 PM »
Even though I prefer painting the armour, I've seen some pretty convincing results where the metal has been polished, then stained.

I have this excellent painting book:

There, the extraordinary painter Danilo Cartacci covers some of the basic techniques for using the natural metal to get a convincing steel look.

Just had to order a copy.  Thanks for the heads-up, ritual! ;)

Questions and Answers / Re: Taking pics with a digital camera

You'll probably want to avoid using flash when you get them painted up. See Keeper40's post on the inspectors to see the shiny effect his flash caused.

I haven't read your tutorial, yet, phil ;)

Boudica Libby?

No, because then I would want a chariot, and Kev doesn't seem to like doing vehicles as much as other stuff.

Just a mere three months after starting them, here are all five of my Heresy Customs Inspectors.

Not sure what I did wrong with the photo - they don't shine like this in real life.  Probably because I only had one light source, the flash on my camera.

But other than that, comments and criticisims are most welcome :)

So what does DNS stand for anyway?

Domain Name Server.  Sometime called Domain Name System (usually by Americans).  Neither is wrong.

Every company's DNS keeps a track of where other companies DNSs are.  That is how the internet connects together at a routing level.

I'm happy that all is well!  I still can't get to your site, but it might just be dns servers lag

Andrew Wiggin?
Never heard of him.  :scratchhead:

Maybe that's because he didn't get to know his enemy well enough,  and died for it before becoming famous.

Actually, he's the protagonist in a series by Orson Scott Card.  The first novel, Ender's Game, is a sci-fi war story with strong psychological overtones.  A friend of mine, to whom I gave a copy, carried it with her in the car and would pray for long traffic lights so she could sit and read every moment possible.

How does this connect to credit cards?  Give me a bit; I'll tie it together.

I bought a copy of Enders Game some time back with my Credit Card.  Does that help? :)

Carcharoth: I still need to learn a lot about airbrushing, but I've started here: http://www.howtoairbrush.com/

With GW paints, thin them down until they have the consistence of milk.

I'm sure there are others here with a lot more experience than me, but I hope this helps :)

I'm getting worried here, not about the CustomHobby site, but about the CustomHobby person. Anyone out there know him personally in real life and know if anything has happened to him?

I think all of the CH regulars are feeling the same way about Mike.

Mike - if you're out there, drop us a line to let us know you're OK!
