Looks like you've found yourself and army-painting technique, gi6ers! :)

I'm away all week in India with work. Talking with the kids on the phone makes me incredibly happy at times likes these - especially since Thing #2 (who is now 6yo) finally gave me the first proper phone conversation I've ever had with her!

Probably finding my best friend at university had died from a massive epiletic fit. We called an ambulance and I sent my wife (well, girlfriend, then) to tell my mate's girlfriend to come home now from her Saturday job, as he wasn't well.  But it fell to me to tell her that he was gone at just 21.  Then dealing with it all, whilst still studying at the same time. Telling the rest of our course, meeting his parents again, helping sort out his stuff, dealing with a heartless landlorn.

But if not that, #2 child being born 10 weeks premature. The hospital and my parents were awesome with the amount of help we needed, but for her first six weeks, so was kept in the intesive care ward before she could come home.  She had a coupleof trips to intensive care in her first 18 month with what was basically weak lungs - which was just as hard. But fortunately now, the cheeky little sod doesn't have any of that handing over her any longer :) Just me threatening to take away treat if she doesn't get her room tidied and stop bringing toys downstairs!

You make an interesting and well thought through conjecture, Brandlin :)

I'd like to respond by undermining two of the primary tenants of your thesis, however:

  1. "no dalek has ever ... had a vajazzle". I think this link will prove otherwise.  Don't worry kids - the content of the link is safe for viewing at work. Just not safe for your sanity.

  2. "There is no such thing as a chav dalek"  A further link here undermines this assertion. Also SFW.

To be honest, I got a little distracted after the last link and didn't bother pursuing the case any further, but having undermind the first two assertions, I'm sure you'll agree the rest of the argument falls apart from there! ;)

Why the hang up on a Grav Bike, Brandlin?

When it comes to potential HF bikes, I find myself "transmission agnostic". Its the bike that's the thing!

He is very, very good, gi6ers :)

"Just a test piece." You're overdoing the modesty - you don't want to be seen being immodestly modest, do you? ;)

General Ranting / Re: The DALEKs are coming... how can we stop them?
« on: April 29, 2013, 10:44:32 AM »
The answer is easier than anyone belives - and so simple.

Edith Piaf.

Play old 45s of the warbling French songstress an maximum volume over PAs near DALEKS and their organic components will explode due to the induced harmonic vibration - just like the aliens in Mars Attacks!

I usually keep this bookmarked for inspiration.  Its in German, but google translate makes a pretty good fist of it, if you can't read German.

Libertee's Miscellaneous Musings II / Re: Things that make you happy

I was in Hamley's on Wednesday and even though there is a lot there, I didn't really like the attention that the staff were dishing out or the 25% mark-up on everything.

I went all the way to the top floor because I knew there was a coffee shop there... and it had been replaced by a sweet shop!

But I did enjoy the day :)

I did find several bargains in the Hornby and Scalextrix (sp?) ranges, but unfortunately I wasn't there for me.  We did buy Mouse Trap and played that together on Sunday evening.  Its a bit different than I remember as a kid, but its still a fun game to play!
