Just saw this thread and man, you do some great work!  Love your conversions.

Doctor Who / Re: Just in case anyone isn't aware....

Watched the live event over here (noon local time).  Don't know what to think as have never seen this actor before (I'm sure he's well known on your side of the pond).
What are people's impressions of him as an actor?  Do you think he'll make a good Doctor?

I suppose I'll have to make up my mind when I watch the first episode he's in (as was with Matt Smith).  Hopefully he's a good choice for the role.

Trailers look nothing like the computer game.   Sorry, couldn't resist.

Looks interesting, may check it out.

Looks like they did what Canada Post did last year.  Not sure what Royal Mail rates are, but the Canadian rates nearly double for each step up in weight.
No need to apologise for something you have no control over.

The Computer Zone / Dishonoured; anyone playing it?
« on: October 11, 2012, 08:08:24 PM »
OK, so they spell the title "Dishonored", but the yanks don't know how to spell. :P
Just got the game yesterday and started playing, got past the first mission, looks interesting.

Anyone else?  If so, what are your thoughts? (no spoilers). :wry:

Netherhells / Re: Abstract vs Playable

Agree with Balgin and Beefcake, more armour should make it easier to hit but harder to hurt (should also slow you down the more you wear).  I'd go for a to hit roll not dependant on armour (maybe weapon skill or something like that) and have armour give damage reduction protection.

That's kind of bizarre as a friend of mine had exactly the same thing happen to him this last week as well.

I second that. (though I'm sure no one is surprised at that)

You not only can wield two spells, but two magical staves, or one staff and one spell.  If you dual wield the same spell it combines and is more powerfull.  Love the changes to the magic and combat with this version of ES.  Awesome to play. :applause:

You Deadric worshipping weirdo! :P

Have a 50 level Nord that did the Compainons, Mage College, Bard College, and Stormcloak quests as well as the main quest.  Thought it was awesome.

Playing a 17 level Breton that is purely a mage, quite a different feel to the game when you try to rely totally on magic.

Totally agree.

Love Skyrim!  Much better than Oblivion IMO.

Going off to play it now.

Voted dwarf.

They might try to claim Andy's is a copy of their's (I know it doesn't make sense, but who says anything they do makes sense?)

Yes, 'flings are always fun.  If you'd picked up the BBLE game, you'd be able to play 'flings.

Did you buy the original BB or the BB Legendary Edition (the first edition only came with 8 teams, or 9 as there was a Dark Elves version also released)?

Why would they change the graphics, it's the same game series.  It has a similar feel to FO3 (why wouldn't it?), but they've tried to give it a bit of a wild west feel as well (it is set in Nevada after all).  I don't find the main plot line any worse than the one in FO3 (you were looking for your dad).  This one seems a little more interesting to me, but everyone has their own tastes and opinions.  I do like the humour that is spread throughout the various side quests.  Not as serious as FO3 and that's one thing I like about it (though someone else might find that a reason not to like it).
Anyway, I'm enjoying it, that's why I would recommend it.

Anyone else playing this?

I am enjoying this alot.  Playing in hardcore mode, awesome.  Don't want to give any spoilers away, just wanted to see who else has it.  Try hardcore mode (it's not as hard as it sounds), just adds a bit more realism;  ammo has weight, have to keep track of hydration, food, and sleep (or get neg effects and eventually death like with rads if ignored), stimpaks, etc restore hit points over time (not instantly).

Information / Re: What is a typical HF customer.
« on: December 17, 2008, 05:08:22 PM »
I'm a 46 yr. old male from Canada who likes collecting mins for gaming but will buy something that looks great even if it's something I might not use in a game.
As Sally should know by now, I generally prefer fantasy football figs and would like to see more of them (they don't have to all be female and make the footballs a little smaller)
I also like fantasy dwarves and have bought every one Kev has done so far.  Will also buy anything that I think will make a good conversion (or just if it looks cool).
I have been on the FoD since the beginning and that's how I found out about HF.  Only ever buy directly from HF.  Love the company and the people behind it, keep up the great work.  Hope HF will be able to survive in these tough economic times (I will do my best to help)

General Ranting / Re: Find a FoDDer!

Yes, I'm from Red Deer and there's another guy (Hawkins, I think) who's from New Brunswick.  (you should really read the thread rather than skim)

General Ranting / Re: Find a FoDDer!

T4P  which is in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, so quite far away from everyone here (though when I was a kid I lived not too far from Hawkins, in Moncton, NB)

Here's a pic of the house I just purchased (my first) a month ago (before it snowed).  It's not big, but not too small, just right for me (it does extend farther out the back but you can't see it in the pic but you can see the detached double garage in the back) .
If any FoDers happen to be in Alberta for any reason (hey, there's Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, etc), let me know, maybe we can meet up and if you happen to be in Red Deer, you could have a place to stay while you're here.

I thought there was a tutorial on painting gems, but I can't see one, so could someone please give a quick rundown or post a link to one.  Thanks.
