Good to know the ticker is working well. Sounds like your kepping your distance from as many stress triggers as possible too. Take care.

Try not to let the baskets get you down Sally.

What was the diagnosis of the heart scares btw ? Sounds like classic panic attacks to me ( I know how they feel unfortunately.)

And yeah life can be cruel, the world can be cruel and people can be cruel. Cherrish those you love.

Information / Re: AN EXAMPLE OF RESIN CASTING COSTS FOR A LIMITED RUN
« on: January 10, 2011, 12:20:35 AM »
Honestly why bother with such a low margin. I understand the ethos of pampering to the fans and while it doesnt make good business sense in the short term it most likely helps in the long run. Its the way you have always run your business in my eyes and its what really sets you apart from other companies ( the cool toys help too of course ). However there must come a point where you should say "look guys we would love to do some gold plated but its just too much for us to absorb".

How about a shorter clear resin run of maybe one mould and adjust the price up accordingly....say 30. If demand asks for it then commission another mould for the clear casts. Then do your usual limited normal resin run at the usual price for your limited resins. Then of course the metals followed by the weapon sprue. BTW I have to add thats one of the best weapons Kev's done to date.

It's nice to know our feelings are cared for here but I'm sure 99% of your customers realize it is a business your running.

In many parts of the US you don't need a permit to carry a gun in the open.  What more does a family need?

That would be all I needed to convince me NOT to go there !!!

Myself.....if I ever was to leave our beautiful country then it would be either to the Moon or Mars.

'White Metal' / Re: How to sculpt?
« on: May 12, 2010, 04:46:21 PM »
Dont waste your money on dvd's etc. Everything you need is on the net with a little google help, youtube has some good sculpting vids up too. The Minimaker link has some good pics in.
Tips
Make sure your armature is the right size and correctly proportioned.
Dont get frustrated and try to do too much in one go.
Have plenty source material to refer to as you sculpt.

Lots and lots of practice.

Feel free to post some pics of ongoing sculpts in the forum, http://forum-of-doom.com/index.php?board=30.0,and plenty of us will try to help out. Already plenty threads there with wip sculpts you should find helpful. Anything specific dont be afraid to ask.

I find most pain relief is very short lived. Bad past experiences with medication makes me scared of new ones.

See the retro-virus theory has been shot down by British scientists after more studies.  :(

Diorama of Doom 2009 (DOD IV) / Re: DOD IV Contest Winners!
« on: December 07, 2009, 01:29:03 PM »
Well done everyone. First and second are very very close IMO. Pete edges it with painting skill I reckon though but only just as I do prefer the "story" with Brandlin's. Great diorama too from Toosh. Love hidden suprises like that.

Thats a very good job there Brandlin, excellent little story. Soapy bubbles are superbly done.

And dont worry about using photoshop etc. Cut/pasting onto a background gradient and adding some speach bubbles isnt "cheating". Adding a highlight to the girls behind is starting on that slippery slope though but to be honest it isnt noticable on the pics. Its not like your shopping eyes on your figures or doing digital freehand.

Ooh thanks for the heads up Mark thats very interesting reading.

Im back to the "bashing my head against the doctors wall" phase lol. Specialist clinic signed me off and removed my diagnosis of me/cfs after sleep studies revealed I have mild sleep aponea. I tried telling them that wasnt the underlying problem but they seem to like closing the book on you.

Be nice when they have a blood test for this retrovirus. Funny how it started for me after a very nasty case of food poisoning.

Oh and Sally...chin up babe dont let the bastards wear you down.

Signatures.
Please be considerate of other users when adding images to signatures.
I think a limit of 100 pixels high and 50k in filesize is more than enough.

Thanks
Mark.

Slave Pit Announcements / Guidelines and rules.
« on: June 12, 2006, 02:26:55 PM »
I just want to drop a quick message here about what is and is not allowed in the Slave Pit.
Obviously the main board rules apply here too albeit with a slackening of the the non FoD company posting rule.
I certainly don't intend to be strict with the moderation of posts but I won't hesitate to delete or edit posts where I think appropriate.
So here's a few things that will probably be added too as time goes by.

Non FoD company posts.
I think you all know where we stand on this. It's OK to post your wip shots of your latest GW or Reaper piece if you need advice etc from us. Just remember where to draw the line. Its not intended as a gallery of your latest but a place for help. Any blatant advertising will be removed. Also no complaining about other companies. Do that to them not us.

Spam.
I hate spam. What is the point of wasting time and energy posting pointless drivel. I will gladly delete spam. If in doubt about your post being spam then just don't bother.

Off topic posting.
I totally understand that threads nearly always go off topic. All I ask is that you try your best to keep them on topic.

"1EE7" speak. (You know the one where letters are replaced by numbers)
Quite simple this one. Any post containing this type of "language" will get an instant removal. We have a perfectly good language called English. Use it.
On a related note the spell checker works very well.

No heated arguments please. This is a great forum and we all seem to get along pretty well. If you do have a grievance or complaint then just send a pm to me or one of the other Mods and we will sort things out.

Thanks
Mark.

I don't mind things going off topic on occasion but excessive spam will be deleted. There are dedicated sections to ramble on.
