:jawdrop:  I had thought the carpet was printed on card or something.   :applause:

Nope, the wonders of dots and lines. :)

Thanks for the praise all! I absolutely loved painting her. My boyfriend tries to limit my miniature buying by mocking me for not painting things but strangely he has absolutely no problem buying me naked girls...

Thanks guys! I'll try and take a photo that does a better job of showing the base at some point... The base is just some thinly rolled greenstuff and then me making random patterns after googling turkish carpets. So much for planning out freehand in advance...

I think the skin colours might be slightly off in this photo as I don't remember her looking so jaundiced when I was painting her. Better photos all around needed I think!

I post here incredibly infrequently, but I recently painted up Concubine (b) and thought she should show herself here. I really need to find some time to paint up some more FoD stuff!

IT'S SO PRETTY!!! I'm frankly terrified of having to paint it now though.

I have to say I'm in the 'I like Boudi' camp. I want her for my own now... But they all look absolutely fantastic.

Wolf's blade really is fantastic. I agree that something seems off about his skin so far though. Not shaded enough in the small of his back maybe? Looks good anyway!

You can get metallic pigments if that helps at all. Never used them myself, but they could be useful here.

Thanks for stepping up Ink! It'd be a real shame if this fizzled out. I'll definitely try and enter again this year.

Also, love the pic.

Cute kitten! I hope she becomes as much a part of your family, life and happiness as your last cat.

I thought the point of casting it in metal was to send off masters to Trollforged? As far as I'm aware no one's supposed to get a fully metal dragon.

Oh no! I'm so sorry for you. :(

I second the idea that "duel" would work as a theme in its own right. I'll start having a think about more ideas though - it seems a very good idea to get inspiration generated early and hopefully more people successfully involved this year.

A step-mother of a friend of mine regularly goes to her school reunions and she really enjoyed the last one. It seemed to involve comparing her figure to everyone else's and feeling relieved that she was beating them this time. But unless you're desperate to prove you're doing better/look better/are better than everyone else there I don't see the point to it. I can't imagine ever wanting to go to a reunion of my school year, for example. You'll have a much better time if you stay at home (or give yourself a treat instead of going).

Congratulations Dragon! And well done everyone who entered. Thanks so much for hosting this Inso - I'm definitely looking forward to the next one and hopefully more people joining in.

And thanks to everyone who voted for me. Totally did not expect that!

Hadn't Gandalf dealt with the Necromancer by the time he turned up again for the Battle of Five Armies? But that might be my memory playing up. I re-read The Hobbit a few months ago so I wouldn't get too annoyed with any changes they made.

Most of the complaints I've heard from my friends when they saw it (I enjoyed it personally) was the lack of plot. But there isn't a *huge* amount of plot in The Hobbit as it is and once you divide it into three...

Thanks all! I was really pleased with the walls and for finding something to use as spider webs (part of my brother's duvet I think...). I just wish I hadn't left finishing it so late.

Thanks so much for running this Inso. I had great fun with it, and will hopefully finish in better time next year. :)

Pictures are up in the Finished Pics thread. Getting a job in the week I'd set aside for minis stuff is not great for stress levels, so it's all a bit rushed.
