Something a bit different, The Frome Steampunk Extravaganza yesterday.

Went to the steampunk market during the day with my 7 year-old daughter. Very goof vibe/buzz, very interesting stalls and items for sale. All were very friendly. Interesting art-work and creative jewellery and other items from the steampunk era! Some very good costumes being worn. The daughter was a bit in awe of some!

Generally, friendly bunch with a very good attitude!

Only down-side, was my wife and I could not attend in the evening for the performances (no baby-sitter!).

This may go in this category?

Gadget Show (UK Ch5) had a small article on 3D printing, as links

http://gadgetshow.channel5.com/gadget-show/videos/gadget-test/future-special-3d-printers

I know its not new cutting edge technology now, but of interest?

The FOD has become a bit......stale/lost/uninspiring

I do visit most days, but it has lost its appeal and life!

As others have said, HF prefer facebook, Heresy Twitter, etc...

Also, it is the same people always posting and there is no real content!

I get all my figure and wargames news and views from elsewhere now

...and as others have said, it was way before the Olympics

The Computer Zone / IObits Advanced SystemCare with Antivirus 2013
« on: July 12, 2012, 02:26:59 PM »
Does anyone know if IObits Advanced SystemCare with Antivirus 2013 is any good. Is it worth $12.99 for 3 PC’s (instead of $49.99) as an upgrade on my existing IObits Advanced SystemCare?

I have already got installed on an XP tower and an XP laptop the IObits Advanced SystemCare v5.3.0 (licenced paid for version), running with Microsoft’s Security Essentials (free) for virus protection. The IObits seems to do its job!

I am not use to being able to go straight to the site yet, old habits die hard, and the reload button is now redundant on my PC

(although spell check does not work!)

I tried to order but it really didn't like it (I guess it hasn't been properly added to the store yet :( ). Thanks for the pointer...I will be getting one as soon as I am able :).

I have never been able to order from THW if using Firefox!

But no issue when using IE8!

I initially thought that Mantic were in trouble, and having to fund their next project by Kickstarter (which may be the case)

But, is it a clever marketing ploy to jump on the Kickstarter bandwagon and get more publicity?   :paranoid2:

For UK, Triple Helix have it listed for £22, with free p/p

But I am getting the Ork Bommer and Necron Night Scythe

She will be sold as described above, however the dilemma is should we provide an option where you can have an extra body/scabbard  so you can make 2 complete models?

Yes

They are in small blister clam packs.

I believe that each store had only about ten packs, first come, first served, etc...

Not listed on their website

The OOP female Paladin from Spyglass Miniatures is on sale at The Works stores in the UK for.......99p

I believe that the model was a limited run giving away with a magazine subscription or similar, but as the Spyglass/Eolith section has been deleted, only Steve can tell us
