Suggestions (HF) / Archer arms for the multi-part goblins
« on: September 10, 2015, 08:30:23 PM »
As it says on the title.

I'd love to see the options for the multi-part goblins expanded with pairs of arms to make them into archers, and quivers.

You know that suits goblins' sneaky nature.

Netherhells / Background ramblings
« on: September 04, 2014, 02:54:29 PM »
So, with all the renewed excitement brought by the KS, along a nice selection of new minis (terror grub, ner'Gabba, maggotmen), I've been thinkg about the background of the Netherhells setting. Specifically, in the "themes" the forces of Hell seem to show.

On one hand, there's a somewhat nurglesque theme. Although it has taken a life of its own; I think that Leadhead's "Inevitable Decay" sums it up well. Grubs, terror grubs, maggotmen, tunnel guards, blights, the Tunnel Dweler, and Ner'Gabba (so far). Embracing the decay, loving the chance to a new decandent decrepitude.

On the other, I can a see a blooming theme on the other, more traditional demons: Fallen Ones, Azaroth, Bhakoth, hellbeasts, hellhounds, and the Netherlord. I can best describe it as "Martial Tyranny". A tyranny imposed through force and fear. This theme is more or less similar to Khorne, except that it's not about mindless savagery, but more of disciplined armies, fearsome hunting beasts, and powerful characters. A bit nazi-like, if you want.

And then there's Heaven. Andy has already said the Paradise is not a nice place. So I've thought... what if Paradise is a mirror of Hell? The Angel already hints at the possible opposite of "Martial Tyranny"... the "Righteous Anger". If demons are disciplined, angels may be chaotic and almost berserker-like in their zealot.

A possible oposite for "Inevitable Decay" could be something along the lines of "Eternal Perfection". Which sounds rather nice, until you realize it's all about fighting any change, keeping everything in an almost frozen state.

There's also a theme, sex/pleasure, that surely can give birth to two opposing forces, be it either in the form of (sadistic?) lust versus (masochistic?) puritanism, or a classical women versus men.

So what do you think? Any ideas you may want to contribute to the Netherhells setting, to see if we can add to Andy's creative juices.

Ideas for New Heresy Models / Trooper heads
« on: July 29, 2013, 09:24:35 PM »
My suggestion is that you add the heads from the troopers (full visor, semi-open visor) to the offer of heads.

These bits seem very popular at the moment, seeing the enourmous amount of stores that offer them. And since you cast all your stuff yourself, shouldn't be difficult to add them to the store.

Once you re-open, that is.

Information / Ordering out-of-stock items
« on: July 15, 2013, 06:57:20 PM »
So, how does this work?

If I want to place an order but some items are out of stock, can I still add them to the cart?
And in that case, would the order be sent only when the out of stock items are re-stocked, or would it be split in two parcels?

Yes, it's not a purely hypothetical question; but I haven't been able to find the policy of these cases anywhere. Just wondering (I'm not in a hurry, mind you, and I'd loath making HF lose money sending separate parcels).

Browsing the web I have just found this:

It's part of a "visions of the future" page:

General Ranting / Need help from stateside fodder on ebay purchase
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:30:00 PM »
As the title says, I need the help from someone in the U.S. to get some items for sale on eBay.

I've been looking for some Bandai Figuarts minis from the DragonBall manga/anime (Goku & Vegeta... for the time being). They are rare items, and rather expensive. But today I have found a seller that's offering both figures for 100$. Even though that's still expensive, it's a great deal because the cheapest alternatives out there are a Goku for 100$ and a Vegeta for 65$.
Problem is that the auction states that the seller will only ship to the U.S. I have contacted him through eBay to ask if he'd be willing to ship to Spain, and I'm waiting for reply. But I fear he won't, and if such occurs I'd appreciate if someone there could buy them and then send them to me in Spain. Logically, I'd paypal the helper the price of the items (100$), the U.S. shipping cost (9$), and whatever it costs to then ship them to Spain (I know it won't be cheap).
Here's the link to the auction:

If someone is willing to lend me a hand, please send me a PM and/or post here. Bear in mind that I yet have to receive the seller's answer to my request (and I'll post that info here as soon as I get it).

I saw this and thought it was brilliant.
And since I think the painter isn't a member here, I decided to post this myself.

As it says on the tin, happy birthday to two of the best painters in this forum. Or in the LAF. Or in Frothers. :artist:

2MI / Modular spaceship floors
« on: December 06, 2011, 11:25:02 PM »
I don't know whether this can be economically viable (i.e. profitable), but I'd like some simple science fiction corridors and rooms, in the style of your Sulaco bases.

That'd be something the like of these:
But made of resin (or whatever other material that works), with a nice texture so that it can be painted by merely priming, drybrushing and/or inking.

What? No, this suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with my project of an Aliens board game. It also has nothing to do with me buying some bulkhead doors and futuristic crates last week (which have already arrived, thanks).

Other Mini's, RPGS, Etc / ALIENS boardgame
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:47:45 PM »
Don't start frothing right now; FFG hasn't bought the rights to the Alien franchise to release one of their top sellers boardgames. This is a project I am working on.

I have been working on a generic system to use in three rpg's of mine: Ajsalium, Necronomicon and Galaxtar (fantasy, horror and science fiction). And I have planned, since the start, that once I have the rpg rules, I would make combat-only version for three boardgames. A fantasy one similar to Heroquest or Warhammer Quest; a horror one similar to Arkham Horror but based on action and combat; and a science fiction of hunting aliens in space ships, in the likes of Space Hulk.

Now I have centered my efforts on this last one, that's likely to be called "Xeno Hunt". I'm in the stage of thinking of general guidelines, before rules come into play. The game will be played by two-four players controlling humans against one game master controlling aliens.

There will be four types of humans: civilians, mercenaries, light infantry, and heavy infantry. Civilians will be little more than cannon fodder, being ill equipped, untrained and unarmoured. Mercenaries and light infantry will be roughly equivalent in power, but with differences. The light infantry is armoured, so better at defense, but the mercenaries are better trained and so better at attacking. The heavy infantry will be elite warriors with the best defense, good equipment and good training.

As was to be expected, I'll also include a Hürn predator in the game as a special character. My idea is to make him the equivalent of a heavy infantry human, but again with the difference of being worse at defense (since he wears no armour), but better at attacking, even at close combat (something no human is really good at).

But I'm not sure what to do with the aliens. There will be an alien queen, that's for sure, and she'll be more powerful than any heavy infantry human or predator. But below her? At first I thought of having just common aliens, but that seems a bit poor, so I'm now settling for having drones as the mass of aliens, and warrior-praetorian aliens as elite ones.
Yet, what power level should I give them? I had thought that a drone should be better than a civilian, but worse than a mercenary or light infantry. With the warrior being better than a mercenary / light infantry, yet worse than a predator / heavy infantry.

What do you all think of this? Comments and suggestions best welcomed.
