I've got a little bit further on the armour now. The platoon leader has been sculpted so I can now get on with spraying the turret and finishing the painting :) :

Still no decals though :(

Lovely paint :)

I'm not hugely sold on this range though... it seems to lack character. Yes, it is very accomplished but its mix of modern/sci-fi is replicated in so many of these CGI ranges that it sort of leaves me cold. The bikes are very good though...

Just a quick post to show off the second painted tank:

The third tank has been washed and will start this week. It'll be getting a visible tank commander to denote it as a lead tank but he won't be a tank commander, rules wise... he'll just be a normal tank (he'll just have a normal helmet rather than a significantly leader-like hat/helmet).

See? I can paint things occasionally :)

... and so it begins again :) . Two more Punishers have arrived:

I have the pens, I have the lascannons and I have the sprue for the punisher cannon.

Once they are converted, that will be the first section of the tank company complete. Then another two lots of three and a command tank :) .

Just need some decals to arrive now :) :

I've ordered some decals from here:

http://domsdecals.com/

and another two tanks from EBay. They will be converted to be the same as this one.

It's a Meng toon tank... all I have changed are the weapons :)

It makes conversion MUCH simpler than cutting up 1/35th Tamiya tanks :)

Seeing as GW have a new Squat in the pipeline... This one, in fact:

https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/580542208189528077/

I thought I would see what I could come up with to get into the spirit of things. This image is self explanatory:

I have another two on the go at the moment; one with a heavy-bolter and one with a flamer and they should be finished pretty quickly because of the minimal conversion work. I think that they will all be about the same height as the new Necromunda Squat so the big question is...

... where does it go from here?

The competition sculpt (Squat Berserker) has been cast up and I was sent a couple of copies so I painted one up:

A bit of back-story :) :

I have now primed the dreads:

Now that I have got as far as I can with them, I thought I'd see what I could find in the loft and managed to uncover my Bullgryn squad. Only one of them had been converted... and he didn't have any weapons but luckily, I had thought about that earlier and bagged a lot of Bullgryn bits from EBay. With the bits already available, it was merely a case of a bit of sawing, drilling, pinning and gluing and I soon ended up with this:

He's a converted, Mantic, Dreadball Ork with GW weapons. He still needs some putty work to fill gaps and sort out a few niggles... but he's pretty much there :) . I have another four sat in a box beside me so I have enough for a squad of five. Tidy :) .

These are now as finished as they will ever be. Thorsen on the left, Ranulf on the right :) :

They will be glued down and then I will prime them as soon as the weather lifts :)

In other news... the Squat Berserker has been sold to Short Wars now :) . He will be available from here in good time:

http://www.shortwars.co.uk/

The miniature in question didn't fare particularly well in the competition but the ones above it were worthy of being there. Here's my now posted Berserker:

As for the Halfling snipers... they can now be found for sale over at CP models :) :

Most of the money from the sculpts I have sold has gone to charitable causes so everyone is a winner :)

I hope it goes well for you and you get your work out there in 'shop land' :) ... It's always cool when that happens.

In today's little update, a top hatch, handle, front vent and some eyebrows have been added. Just for the record, the arms and top weapons are not glued in place yet... and the bodies are not attached to the base (so the pose hasn't been fixed yet) :) :

I will be fettling the bodies and getting them finished before moving on to the arms :) .

"You've made me want to 3d sculpt my own walkers."

Get on it! If you have the facilities, why haven't you done it already? ;)

Something for the army again; this time, it's a pair of Dreadnoughts to go with the Space Marine component of the organisation. Obviously, I can't just get a dreadnought or two. That would be too easy... so I bought a box of Mechanicus robots and here we are. Still WIP but I am getting there :) :

The berserker is just having the hammer and a holstered pistol. That way, it can become a fantasy miniature simply by converting the holster into another pouch :)

I will get the new Necromunda Squat when he's released... not because I want to but because I have to :)

I do not like Beesputty. I have never tried it but I don't like the way it looks grainy and that it has a tendency to crack when you bake it.

I have decided that I am happy with Green Stuff, Brown Stuff and the odd bit of milliput here and there... and all of those are air drying :)

If Beesputty works for you, keep practicing :)

Cheers :) . They arrived with him on Saturday and he is pleased with them so that's a good thing :)

In other news, I have been working on a sculpt for a competition over on Facebook. It's a Squat Berserker (still WIP):

Nearly there, just the hammer and a few other little bits to go.

In a rather interesting turn of events... do you remember these?:

Well, I have sold the greens to CP Models and they will be available in the near future :) :

Sadly, this is it really :(

Facebook has sort of killed the forums...

There are one or two of us that still pop by occasionally... but I fear that Facebook has killed off all but the most voracious of forums now :(

By "after serious health issues", I am hoping that you are now fully recovered and fighting fit :)
