Although I haven't been painting, I have been sculpting A LOT!

Loads of conversions and a good handful of full sculpts.

Had to go where my muses dictated :)

Cheers :)

It's a bit worse in person... but it fits the bill and seeing as I haven't painted very much at all over the last couple of years, I am quite happy with it :) .

Next up, will be a couple more Grymn characters :)

In other news... the Grymn have hired a mercenary tracker called Roddy:

There is a thicker version called Martian Iron Crust (rather than Iron Earth) but I went for this one because it was less bumpy.

I could put a wash on it but I prefer it like it is... it reminds me of 1976 :)

All the troops are now finished... so it's time to start on the characters :) :

This is the first time I have ever used crackle paint and I think it looks OK. I need to get it a bit thicker on the base to get more of a crackle effect but, as I go along, I'll get the levels worked out :) .

I have two of them finished... apart from the base rim and a drybrush on the base.

As for 'first squad'... :D

It was only a matter of time before I got some more Grymn on the go... here is the start of my Martian Patrol (after the terraforming has happened ;) ):

I still have a way to go yet... but it's highlighting and basing so it can't take too much longer... can it?

Here's an album with WIP photos to this point:

I am happy because I went fishing for the first time in 30 years... and could still cast :)

I still couldn't catch any fish (my friend did so I still got to take some home) but I didn't really catch fish when I last tried to either :D!

It was also a 'tick in the box' on my big list of things I wanted to do when I moved to Cornwall :)

Fortunately, the pictures still work if you 'right click and view image in a new tab' on each of the placeholders... so they aren't completely gone.

It doesn't make it any less infuriating though :(

I have seen quite a lot of it elsewhere...

It appears that Photobucket is holding me to ransom. If I don't pay $399.99 a year, all of my photographs will remain as those photobucket place holders.

I will not be held to ransom so I will be looking for an alternative host. In the meantime, I apologise for the fact that all of my images are gone... and are unlikely to reappear.

I had no warning... the hosting update that apparently happened on 28th June has obviously come into effect. I now know why I have been seeing the place holders on so many forums.

I will be selling them myself, yes.

Work on the Ogre sniper continues, now that the Halflings have been sent off for casting. I have continued to bulk out the torso and add the muscle groups. It is almost a shame that all this will be covered over... but at least I have a good foundation to work on:

Next will be the lower back and then the feet and lower legs. Lots to do :) .

The snipers have all had their basing tabs added:

They have been packed up and will be sent to my caster tomorrow, for casting in July/August (he's a busy chap). Once they are cast up, I will be able to sell some :) .

Yep... I'll echo those Beefcake sentiments :)

The FoD has been my favourite forum since 2004... 13 years! That may be why I am the top poster on here :)

I'd like to thank Andy for keeping this going for as long as he has... he didn't need to and he could have done without the additional expense so... Cheers Andy, it has been a blast and I have appreciated the effort, very much.

Sadly, forum traffic has reduced all over the place (not just on the FoD) since Facebook turned up and that, sadly, means that a lot of forums are like ghost towns nowadays. I am not surprised that alternative arrangements are being made.

I have made some great friends and contacts as a result of the FoD and I will be forever grateful for that.

Best wishes to all of my FoD allies and best wishes to the future of the FoD, in whatever format it takes.

Most of all... Cheers, Andy :) ... it's been a heck of a ride :)

I'm cancer free and the testing has revealed that I don't carry the defective gene. It has been a really troubling year and a half but there's only one way from here :)

That is wonderful news! I am so pleased for you :) ... NICE ONE!

Hopefully... if they are viable for casting (they should be... they'll be resin). I've talked to Rob over at Hysterical Games and warned him that they will be going his way at some point :)

Four snipers finished, with a prone one on the cork:

They were spyglass, definitely.

The little 'Noblin' is called Hurk and is cool... and so is Brother Barnaby (I think that was his name).

I have a few of the Noblins:
